My prediction years ago was that some day ham radio will not even require a radio. Brilliant.

The be fair, I am not saying people should not use radios to access the digital networks. In my specific case, which I did not talk about in the video. I live in an area where there was no digital repeater coverage at the time that I went down this path and personal hotspots were still fairly new. From the technical/financial aspect, why buy 4 radios to do the same thing as one vocode device can do, to just talk to the same people that I can talk to on analog FM. The reality is that the medium of how the conversation it distributed does not affect the value of the conversation.

Sort of like EchoLink just need smartphone, computer or laptop? That my was complaint about have to buy different radios to use digital modes.

Ive been using an older dvmega hooked up to pc. Works great
