MASTER LINK DERRINGER . NON SHOOTING CONCEPT: Making trigger and hammer

Well, an update:
Using my 2 washers made the real trigger and hammer from 1/4” steel. The geometry seems to work as expected.
The hammer is tall, but may need to be lightened and shortened to move fast, depending on what I have for the spring (s)
Again I don,t expect sho shoot it, but I want the hammer snap with real force.
Now is my main issue- a solitary spring between the hammer and sear. I hate to use 2. Not clean to my taste. Not elegant.
I don,t want to rush it, want a nice deliberation with a good result. But in the worst scenario I always can copy the trigger and hammer if screw them up.
For now I think a double legged torsion spring. I have a nice flat spring, but I am not sure of the leverages and eccentrics to place it correctly .

Ha. The whole rectangular thing is the ‘ barrel’ . Made of 1/2x 1 “ flat. The pivot is in the bottom front corner, nothing to weld. You will see in later episodes the full disassembly

@@STEINBVG dont laugh, theres a ton of smiths from various asian isands... they swear by crazy glue and duct tape. The spanish smiths like the jb weld.

Cool design. Although it seems like unless your street fight feels like someone is trying to kill you or great bodily harm you can't use deadly force. If you have a way to retreat you take it. There's no stand your ground or castle doctrine in my state. Your better off just throwing a guy or 3 to the ground and leave. If someone already drew down on you then you comply. Property isn't worth life. I get it, if you're not 6.3 290lbs you might feel you need an equalizer. Too much Grey area I only carry out of state or with family.

I did not want to build a true derringer, everybody does. I wanted a different take on it, and more importantly, as my usual condition- simple materials and tools. No welding. A shotgun ejection style was my deciding moment. Thanks
