4:21 the "ll" in Spanish is pronounced as the letter "y" in "you", like "j" in "just", or like "sh" like in "show" (this depends on the accent, depending on the country, people can pronounce it in one of these different ways) So words like "cuello" and "lluvia" are pronounces like "cueyo" and "yuvia", or like "cuesho" and "shuvia" Hope it helps ^^

A *huge* tip is to learn all of the language's *particles*. There aren't that many. Particles aren't really concretely defined (kind of like "fly *to*", to is a particle) but they're like the connective tissue between many words, they don't really change, and they are super common. I'm surprised people don't mention learning them more often. Learn the language's particles, the top 100-150 most common vocab words, and a list of the language's cognates to English (words that are almost spelled the same and mean the same), and you'll find yourself understanding wayyy more Spanish. Don't get bogged down in complicated verb conjugation lists and stuff like that. They have their place for sure, but it's more like 15% of overall studying, instead of a majority. Most people's brains don't really pick up how to utulize a language like that, not very well that is. Even lindie here says "I don't write down most of my vocab". Repetition and picking up things naturally from exposure will give you an organic progression. People tend to put on a video or audio, realize right away they're not understanding anything then just shut it off or quit paying attention. But keep at it, the more times you listen, the more finely your mind will be able to decipher sounds, and put together words and sentences that before sounded like nothing, and remember those sentences for use in later conversations. Play things over and over, listen to songs you enjoy over and over, listening and singing the lyrics. You'll be surprised how well your brain is at picking up how a language operates, just interact with the language a lot. Try just listening to more native speakers in media, film, radio, podcasts etc at a 70-80% comprehension level. Listen over and over, shadow it (repeat what they say right after they say it), and then focus on the areas that keep slipping by you. Make that about 50% of your studying Don't get discouraged when listening when you can't translate *everything*, that's the whole point, but the more you listen, the more you'll keep picking up. Then use an app like HelloTalk you can find endless Spanish/whatever speakers wanting to learn English to interact with, either messaging or through calls in the app. I'd recommend joining a group on HelloTalk as there's far more overall interaction, there's almost always *someone* online, and it keeps you wanting to stay motivated and involved. Hope this helps!

Something I have noticed Spanish learners make, as a native Spanish speaker 🇨🇴 is that when they read certain words they don’t put the accent right, I don’t know if you have made it, but when you see a “tilde” in a word like árbol or canción you say the accent in the vowel with the tilde like Árbol or canciÓn, it’s just a recommendation for your Spanish journey and the you can sound more native

Three completely different meanings depending on the context

Lindie, thank you so much for sharing!!! I really liked Toucan. I've never heard of this extension. But I can use it for my Portuguese studies! :)
