On those low-energy days when you don’t quite feel yourself, I recommend using Immersive Translate to supplement your language learning. I personally use it to watch Netflix every day, and I’ve already made remarkable progress with it. I’m learning a lot each day that I use it, and am quite pleased with the results.

Like you, at first, I really struggled with learning Vietnamese. It was only when I decided to download Immersive Translate did everything change. Once I started using Immersive Translate every day to watch Netflix, that was when I started seeing results. I started to become more and more immersed in my target language, and my language skills even improved. I’m really glad I downloaded the plugin and couldn’t be happier.

I’ve been learning Japanese for two years in a row, and I’ve been thinking about learning Chinese. I was totally afraid of learning both of them at the same time, but after seeing our video, I don’t think it’s going to be a problem though.

Learning a language isn’t easy. But in order to maximize the results I’ve been combining my entertainment time with language learning. I’ve been using Immersive Translate to generate subtitles for my Netflix, and that’s how I’m able to become immersed in the language. It’s been quite a journey so far, and I’ve already learned a lot.

Don’t use HelloTalk ever. If you say anything about the CCP or China negative, then you will be banned without warning, and they won’t refund you your VIP. They are a puppet of the CCP. The user experience is bloated and awful. Do not recommend.

I also speak all these languages except French, African and Arabic😺 आपको जानकर खुशी है मुझे भी भाषाएँ सीखना बहुत पसंद है हाल ही में हिंदी पर ध्यान केंद्रित कर रही हूँ और मैं भी सोचती की अन्य एशियाई भाषाओं की तुलना में हिंदी सीखना मुश्किल है

I’d like to mention a free resource that I’ve been using to supplement my language learning. It’s called Immersive Translate, and it’s a browser extension that supports over 100+ languages, with many other useful features as well. I personally use it to watch Netflix every day, and this has been a great way for me to become immersed in the language.

Hello ! I think you should learn the languages that attract you ! I have tried ~12languages for the past 15 years but decided to chose my favourites only : Russian and Finnish There you go : 🇫🇷French : my mothertongue. 🇺🇸English : lingua franca . I use it to learn other languages as well. 🇪🇸Spanish : I studied in a languages program and spanish was part of the curriculum. I learned a lot about Mexico culture , arts and history. I was able to speak it at a decent level a few years ago. ***Those are fun languages but I was not passionate enough . could not commit to it. 🇮🇹Italian 🇵🇹🇧🇷Portuguese ❤️💛Catalan 💚🤍Esperanto 🇺🇦Ukrainian 🇩🇪German : I studied the language at university and attend culture class (I completed A1 level) 🇳🇱Dutch : harder than German in my opinion and I like the sounds of this language I recommand the channel @learndutchwithkim to everyone who is trying to initiate themselves with the langage. She is very funny and entertaining. 🇰🇷Korean / 🇯🇵Japanese : I love the culture but the politness levels and some nuances are hard to master. Contextual language : grammatical structureare chosen based on the context rather than relations between words- I prefer precised grammar rules 🇨🇳Mandarin : The grammar was not so easy for me to learn . not much conjugation is not a blessing… In high school, there was a special activity call introduction to mandarin. One class per week for two months. My parents wanted me to give it a try but one the class was done I did not have the motivation to stick with it and learn all the caracters. im adopted from China btw. The languages I chose to devote time and efforts : 🇷🇺Russian : Reputation to be crazy hard but it has reliable and logic grammar rules, it is precised and case system is not that complicated once you understand it in. Cases are a blessing because it points out context. Culture fascinate me. 🇫🇮Finnish : that language and background is a mystery. How did I discover it ? I downloaded a finnish playlist music and could not stop listening to it.

Don’t overthink it when translating from Afr. To Dutch. You will make mistakes like “het probleem zijn” where it’s just “het probleem IS” or “dat ben heel moeilijk voor mij” where it’s “dat IS heel moeilijk voor mij. Afrikaans speakers always get thrown off by the “zijn” “ben” but you will only use Ben with IK BEN (I am), JIJ BENT (You are) and other that that never.

I agree with you that the conventional route of going about learning a new language might not be for everyone. For me, what’s worked best is self-studying through Immersive Translate, an extension browser that supports over 100+ languages. I use it to watch Netflix, and this has really helped me become immersed in my target language.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE WESTERN PEOPLE FEEL CHINESE CHARACTERS ARE DIFFICULT? IN MY OPINION, CHINESE CHARACTERS ARE SO EASY TO LEARN SINCE THEY ARE CAME FROM SIMPLE PICTURE. AS A CHINESE, I JUST KNOW ABOUT 500 COMMON CHINESE CHARACTERS BUT THAT IS ENOUGH FOR READING BOOKS. I CAN UNDERSTAND OVER 90% OF CHINESE VOCABULARY BY THIS 500 COMMON CHINESE CHARACTERS ON THE OTHER HAND, I FEEL THE WESTERN PHONICS WRITING IS TRULY DIFFICULT. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS ALPHABET PUT TOGETHER WOULD BE THIS READING VOICE? THEREFORE, I LEARN THE ENGLISH VOCABULARY, WORD BY WORD. BUT I OFTEN FORGOTTEN THE SPELLING, MEANING AND READING VOICE OF THE ENGLISH VOCABULARY. I FOUND THE AMOUNT OF ENGLISH VOCABULARY WHICH I NEED TO KNOW ARE MANY MORE TIMES THAN THE CHINESE

ALTHOUGH I AM A CHINESE, BUT I DO NOT KNOW PINYIN. IT IS BECAUSE PINYIN/CHINESE PHONICS IS NOT ORIGINALLY CAME FROM CHINA. IT IS ORIGINALLY CAME FROM WESTERN PEOPLE WHO LEARNING CHINESE LANGUAGE TO OUR CHINESE, WE DO NOT LEARN CHINESE LANGUAGE BY PINYIN

I AM A CHINESE AND I LIVE IN A SMALL CITY IN SOUTHERN CHINA, MACAO I JUST KNOW ABOUT 500 COMMON CHINESE CHARACTERS BUT THAT IS ENOUGH FOR READING BOOKS AND NEWSPAPER. IT IS BECAUSE AFTER YOU KNOW THIS 500 COMMON CHINESE CHARACTERS, YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND OVER 90% OF CHINESE VOCABULARY

CHINESE IS SO EASY 1. THE GRAMMAR IS SO SIMPLE 2. YOU JUST NEED TO KNOW ABOUT 500 COMMON CHINESE CHARACTERS. THEN, YOU CAN UNDERSTAND OVER 90% OF CHINESE VOCABULARY. CHINESE CHARACTERS ARE CAME FROM SIMPLE PICTURE AND EACH ONE IS A SINGLE WORD/ELEMENT WORD. THE CHINESE VOCABULARY HAS A LOT OF COMPOUND WORDS WHICH ARE 2 OR MORE CHINESE CHARACTERS COMBINED TOGETHER

This hit deep. I really struggled with issues of identity coming from a mixed background. When I was a kid, I remember being annoyed when people would speak to me in Spanish or Irish Gaeilge. I think motivation to use and keep those languages came when I internalised that those were my languages as well as English. That being said, I think it's important for me at least when I am learning a language to find a way to identify myself with the language or, for want of a better description, to find a home inside the language and its speakers.
