Every *_real_* Star Trek fan will get your Darlok reference... 'Timba, his arms open (for MoO)!' :D Don't you dare say 'Timba, at rest...'

Thank you for this video, enjoyed watching it allot. I would love to see how you eventually scored all the points. Or, at least I would like to see how the winner (spoiler free! ) got his points since it came a bit as a surprise for me that he won.

Huge fan of MoO2, really hope for the best for this game. The diplomacy seemed quite interesting, it was a bit of a pity that we couldn't see more warfare until the final turns. Makes me wonder how a more military focused game might look like and whether the Bulrathi player squandered his advantage in round 2 (mainly military tech and a titan) by not attacking anyone. With that in mind, what would happen in a situation where a player moved their units inside another players system with regards to building star bases / fleets there? The effect of forced unrest (-9 victory points, basically preventing the player from getting resources) seemed devastating as well, but that's probably also an issue with the diplomatic players being left to their own devices. There doesn't seem to be a mechanic to claw your way out from such a situation (if it were to happen earlier to you) unless you're playing diplomatic as well or someone takes pity on you and has an apropriate diplomat? The abilities of the different races seem super interesting, really curious how the additional races will function as well. While I quite like the Elerians myself, I can't help but wonder how a civilization focused on mobility such as the Trilarian might perform in the context of border wars.

There are ways to claw out of unrest. There are ways to also mess with diplomatic players to limit the damage they can do. Also remember they are still playing Beta rules - I am sure there will be tweaking especially after the TTS version is put in the wild.

I wanted to somewhat force vassalage on the player to eventually get their help with the Darlok, but I trusted them too much, and now I know that in the future, I shouldn’t trust so easily. I also didn’t attack with the Titan because my main mission was to take control of Orion. Unfortunately, I failed. :/

@@SławekAftarczuk Yeah, but really awesome play nonetheless! It was impressive seeing the doom star and the titan, as well as you creating the pocket system with orion which was basically not attackable for the other parties. It's of course easy to see the problems in retrospective, I frankly wouldn't have expected for a few diplomacy actions to reduce your score that much with the Darlok and Human being at a close race for first place. Losing your homesystem certainly didn't help either. It's really fascinating to see the result as well because for a large part of the video it seemed as though you were quite ahead. Definetly psyched for the game itself (or upcoming videos). It looks really interested without being overly complex from a rules perspective which is a nice mix.

@@michaelbuonagurio5110 I'm sure if there are balancing issues they will come to light and be fixed in the future. Just to clear up any possible missunderstanding - the game looked great to me, I'm more interested in the perspective of other games and playstyles. A more agressive tactic might have resulted in a quick victory - or, if the human player had reacted with a battlestation (which has rather nice stats with 2/4 for ~3 production) in some kind of stalemate. It's interesting seeing the different playstyles and how they performed, definetly a game I'm super interested in purchasing for myself.

@@Siran09Got it! Yeah I am a heavy play tester as well as a consultant (I was a dev for the video game remake Wargaming did). This past Sunday we did a heavy diplomacy game to wring out that aspect. A prior playtest was more military and that was total mayhem! The slightly less aggressive player won by digging in, going mainly defensive and just quietly grabbing missions! They eeked out the win by a couple of points. Definitely a lot of different strats. I am very very pleased with how this game feels like the video game. Diplomacy is the master stroke- no other 4x board game out there has anything even close.
