You could do the same thing an octave lower. So instead of starting on the 20th fret of the B string, start on the 8th fret of the B string. One issue is that it’ll be more difficult to play because of the long divisions between each fret but eh, better than nothing right?

For all people who dont have enough Frets: There is a formula for Notes If you want to play a note on a higher string calculate: x-5 If you want to play a note on a lower string calculate: x+5 You can multiply the 5 with the strings you want to go down or up :) Eg: x+(5*2)

Presented to you by Guitar-Tips-for-Rookies-That-Got-The-Guitar-This-Week. SO, this part requires access to upper frets on the high E string, how exactly do you get the same note on the higher string, for the HIGHEST string?! A better tip would be just saying to do a pre brend of 1 or two whole steps on the highest possible fret to get the same note, just saying'...

It's so rare to come across such beautiful music in hard rock. It's always so shreddy and twisted and cool, but this is so well thought out and, like all of Carl's lessons, easy to learn when you watch one of his tutorials. Even years ago I loved this song, but I always looked forward to this part the most. Thank you so much Carl I'm gonna learn this so fast 🎸🎸🤟👍

I had the same exact problem, so I just removed all my fingers from the fretboard during the hammer-on, and then practiced getting my fingers back on in the respective positions slowly at first until they naturally went in place, and I could place it real-time speed.

Hey Carl! Awesome tutorial as always! I think you are doing an extra pull off-hammer on combo when Hetflield's solo starts (14-15-17-19) part. I might be wrong but I actually watched him play super close live and also the MOP tabs book Metallica published in 90's didn't have that either. Just thought maybe you'd wanna take a look at it again. Best!

@@gamingspirits9160 i haven't learned any songs by Metallica all the way through yet, but i learned the riffs and melody's to One, Enter Sandman, Fade to Black, and everything besides Kirk Hammet's solo in master of puppets. I plan on learning the rest of those songs soon. I also play a lot of songs by other bands. How many songs can you play?

Great soloing, but u gotta slow it down at the end, I ended up spending ages just rewinding one second parts just so I could catch on. But still, fantastic playing, I enjoyed learning this.
