It’s amazing how the under layer looks so thick but is really a light application.

Good video. I like the showing of the home work involved before the tackling of the actual painting. Thank you.

When you made your transfer did you draw it on a grid first? I absolutely enjoyed this video since I have used oil and soft pastels; however, I see how much more I would enjoy pan pastels.

You explain so nicely. Starting using my pan pastels which has been sitting on the shelf for a few years and I have the pencils too. I will join Patron soon when I can dedicate more time to the work. I like to use my own reference if I can due to Copyright. What is the situation with this using your reference? I have done a recent workshop painting a lioness and I am now very motivated to use pans n pencils.

This is just lovely. As always, a great tutorial. Magnetic board for pan pastel makes so much sense. Putting it on my Christmas $ gift to self-list. What size are you working on? And which magnets hold the paper best? Thank you so much for sharing your work. You are the reason I use the pans, carbothello and Derwent stumps.

@@dorothygladsjo3510 That may be, but even though I am a patreon member, I'd still like the accurate answer.......save me some serious time & digging. Thanks, Jason, so please let us know what progam you used to drag out the colors.

My favourite brand of white transfer paper is Saral brand (wax free). It comes in several colours (graphite, white, blue, yellow & red)

Jason, so soft pastels or pastel stick s are the richest in pigment..then....pan pastels.....then pencils....is that order correct?
@wildlifeartjm2 жыл бұрын
i would say the pencils are more opaque than the pans.

Are you using regular Coloured pencils?

Hello, thank you for your videos. Are very helpful. I would like to ask. Are soft pastel sticks necessary or or with the pastel pencils i can do the same job?
@wildlifeartjm2 жыл бұрын
you can do all with pencils, they just wear out quicker
