Master Rope Dart Using.... Physics?!?

Video starts at 3:08 Just kidding don't do that. Don not skip the safety part. Another very interesting tutorial! I practice shooting at a target a lot with both a meteorhammer hammer (blunt) and a ropedart (Pointy but not really sharp) so I never tried a target where darts sticks in the wood. I do notice a ropedart has a whole more whobble in it's flight compared to a meteorhammer. This might just be a weight issue, my heavier ropedart whobbles less and so it also varies on the type of darthead. I also notice that a lot of the time when I'm doing target practice on ice, the ropedart doesn't hit point forward but it was actually the side of the dart hitting the target.

You can eliminate wobbles by making sure whatever you are using keeps having tension during the swings. But you don't have to really focus too much about that until you are about to execute the shot. Let's say I'm doing lots of fancy stuff, I'm not focusing on the blade's orientation throughout... until I'm about to do the shot. =) then it's just a basic shot if I just only focus on that. =D

I POKED MY EYE OUT. But seriously thank you for this video while i am moderatly skilled with the rope dart i am not yet confident to use a live blade but still very interesting to see this covered since most content is focused on training variants and not the real deal, would it be possible to inflict cuts and keep swinging/go into a wrap while going for x pattern swings or elbow sideswaps ? since the video was focused on shots..

If you swing the dart, the pointy part is always pointing away. And as long as you keep your body out of the plane/line/path of whatever trick, the blade will always pass by. Just always be 100% aware and never be lazy with your techniques when using a live blade! =D

Hi! I wield a lighter dart than the standard 5.5 oz or around half kilogram? minimum, and I have trouble getting it to stick to wood surfaces using trick shots but I do manage to get it to stick using only upward and downward spin. Any tips?

Every trick shot can be broken down to its basic elements. Example, if I'm trying to do a nonstall overlord, everything is fancy but the real focus is just simply the elbow shot. And the elbow shot is simply an upspin shot utilizing the elbow. So use the elements in this video to work on the elbow shot. Then, any fancy trick that ends with an elbow shot, you can do since it's really truly only an elbow shot! ;)
