Welcome to Captain's Cabin on Suezmax Tanker! Short review. Ship was built on 2011 at South Korea, Hyundai Shipyard. Master's cabin consists of Captain's Office, Bedroom and Shower & Tiolet Section. Monitors from ECDIS, Echo Sounder, Ship' Handling Panel on the Navigation Bridge are available. As well as satellite telephone.

How incredibly different the lives of seafarers have been over the centuries and the decades of the last century. The accounts in Hakluyt's Voyages take your breath away... My first "foreign port" in the 1960s was Magdalena Bay on the Baja Peninsula where the coal burning Great White Fleet spent a month in 1908 conducting gunnery practice on their round the world voyage, can you imagine the logistics of that venture... My dad served on the USS Saratoga CV3 during the mid 1930's when future Five Star Admiral Halsey was the Captain... I spent a year (as a teen) on a WW2 LST (Landing Ship, Tank) bouncing all over the far east in the mid '60s, Hellish living and working conditions, but the adventure...Priceless. I'm just kind of rattling on here, it's wonderful in my old age to be able to visit and see all the living and working spaces of these modern ships thanks to KZbin, and visit ports via Google Earth, something I could have never dreamed of...Thanks for posting.

It was a great pleasure to read your comment,very much appreciated. I started my sea career as cadet on 30 years old soviet product tanker with the voyage from Crimea to Vietnam. The ship was ruther old and with minimum life comfort conditions (common toilet and shower for the whole deck), air conditioner failed when we crossed Red Sea, so we put our mattresses out of accommodation and slept on main deck. But impressions from that voyage are still the deepest. My best regards to you!

@@S.Kostan_1970 Interesting to me that your first voyage was to Vietnam, may I ask what port and year..?? I made 5 two day (long way around) voyages to Can Tho in the delta... 5 into Saigon or more properly Ho Chi Minh City, including a dry dock visit there to re-repair typhoon damage (the old dry dock is gone now, it was between the zoo and the river)...we visited 8 other "ports" along the coast including Nha Trang when it was just a great long beautiful empty beach, now a tourist mecca...I'm so happy to see the great progress the nation has made... I met the Vietnamese father of the lady whom one of my nephews married and discovered he, as a child, was in a refugee camp less than a half km from where our ship beached...Best wishes, Sir.

@@markmark2080 We visited port of Hon Gai, Nortern Vietnam in August,1989. I remember that we spent there two weeks, dischrging diesel oil on to barges (there was no oil terminal). We didn't even go ashore for some security reasons, still don't know which one. Cargo was delivered as humanitary aid, Soviet Union supported Vietnam after Vietnam - China conflict.

Good evening captain!!! I see arrival 2023-02-25 at 04:00 a little delayed but these things happen on trips. Wind with an intensity of 3 Beaufort very good with direction north and air temperature 7 C. Speed / course 12.6 Kn. All good !!!!!👍
