SEGA did a really good job porting the game to its own consoles. From the Megadrive to the Master System and Game Gear. Really good ports. If you couldn't afford a MD back then and you only get your hands on the MS, or wanted a portable experience on GG, they really gave you something for your money. Thank you, SEGA! :)

While this port certainly has great visuals and audio (thanks to Yuzo Koshiro), the two-enemy limit is pretty pathetic for a beat 'em up (even the Game Gear version has 3); also, the enemy AI is equally pathetic: just jump, kick, and repeat until end of game. No strategy required here. :-(

Makes me laugh when people whinge on about last-gen ports being "crippled" just because of some frame rate drops and a lower resolution. How spoiled and entitled people are nowadays. All things considered, this wasn't a terrible late-day last-gen port back in the day. It's missing two-player mode, parallax scrolling, the awesome soundtrack, the more fluid and versatile fighting system, but it's about what the game would have been had it been developed from the ground up for the Master System. It got savaged by the gaming press in 1993, but it's important to consider that the performance gulf between the Master System and Mega Drive was massive.
