im guessing your from north america, sorry if your not both sor 1 and 2 both came in 1993 to PAL regions (europe, australia, brazil and a few other places). the master system was long dead in japan and north america by then disconting in 1991 after sonic 1 released i believe mostly thanks to jerks at the time nintendo who would make 3rd party game makers sign contracts to only have games on the NES, sega later sued and won but the damage was done in those 2 regions. the master system went on until 1996 here in europe, australia and until 1998 i believe in brazil

SEGA 1989 tendo Brazil isn't PAL region...Its tv has 60HZ, ntsc screen format with PAL colour range wich is called PAL-M, nothing to do with european television

I had finished it in hard with all the characters, it was super difficult. At the time, being able to have Streets of Rage 2 on the Master system was something incredible. And the music is cool.

O melhor game Beat'n up dos 8 bits. Ótimos gráficos. Yuzo Koshiro fez um verdadeiro milagre na trilha sonora do game. Bem divertido e bem desafiador.

Discordo, os sprites ficaram capengas demais, pequenininhos e mal definidos, lembra o "estilo" dos games do C64, francamente, com 4 megabits dava prá fazer melhor, parece que nem tem multiplayer nem nada! Em 93 saiu beat ups melhores como Might Final Fight e Battletoads and Double Dragon no Nes, além do próprio SoR original do Master. Porém, até que as música e os sound effects ficaram bons, de acordo com o que possível fazer com canais de áudio PSG. Ainda assim é um título divertido pra quem curte porradaria no Master system É isso aí.

But take the Game Gear version (essentially a portable Master System), which has better colors, better sprite work, and can put three enemies on screen at once (this version is limited to only two). I don't know why they weren't worked on in unison. The Game Gear version is much better.

Graphically it looks worse but is running at 60fps Vs the originals at 30fps which makes the game actually play better. Yes I'm replying 2 years late.

That was the good thing about Sega, it offered ports to each of its consoles so that its customers didn't feel left out. Sure it was bad graphics but the gameplay and story are there...nintendo cut short the nes lifespan using snes as an excuse. Series like Startropics never got far as a result of the disconnection between nintendo's own consoles.

Una conversión mala, deberían haber tomado ejemplo de los Double Dragons de NES. Si la Master System es más potente que Nes ¿por qué los sprites son tan pequeños comparados con los de Double Dragon?, luego hay un montón de espacio superior que se desperdicia sólo para decorado y otras cuestiones que me llevan a pensar lo que dije al principio. Seguro que con más tiempo lo podrían haber hecho mucho mejor.

Did they ever test their game ? Then they would have noticed how wrong an idea it is to try being faithful to the original SoR 2 music. i can't remember playing these levels on the megadrive version.

You know what I think has happened here? Yuzo Kushiro has got too big for his boots and insisted his tunes get channel priorities over sound effects just so his tune's tracks don't ever cut out. Thats my theory anyway.

No, the sprite sizes are about the same as SoR1 MS as far as I recall. You set yourself up for higher expectations because the sprites in SoR2 MD are larger than in SoR1 MD, but the Master System only had limited horsepower.

I know that RickyC already did longplays for Streets of Rage Series for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive platform but I would like to see longplays for this platform by SCHLAUCHI. He is much better, no offense Ricky. Why I care? Because Game Gear/Master System versions of Streets of Rage has terrible graphics and sound (consoles are good but not for this game).

For anyone who hasn't played SMS SOR2, the video can't capture how horrible this game is. You have no i-frames at all after getting up, and extremely aggressive enemies abuse the hell out of it, leading to regularly losing all your life in one combo. They can even hit you out of your special moves for added cheapness. Jump kicks are unreliable and don't come out half the time, making Jets an absolute nightmare to deal with. Easily the worst version of any Streets of Rage game by far. I give the Master System points for trying, but the Game Gear version is way better than this pile of trash. Even the SMS version of Streets of Rage 1 is great in comparison.

It plays a lot worse when compared to the Game Gear port of SoR2. Everything is so off: the enemy speed, their cheap AI, the controls responsiveness, and the hitboxes. It's just a lazy port overall. And it is so weird considering GG and SMS have idential specs. It's a shame.
