That rusty cylinder probaly has the rings rusted to the cylinder. Get some aerokroil, it works miracles. I bought a seized up reloader that was jacked sprayed it with the kroil and let it sit for a cpl days and it freed up great.

Due to it being a manual transmission, I’m assuming the vehicle was in neutral during the use of wrench. Another way would be to leave the vehicle in gear and gently push the it back and forth…..parking brake disengage of course. Good luck

I don’t really understand the argument. There’s an engine in it. Do what you do best and send it! The worst that could happen is you have to get a motor anyway. Nothing to lose really.

Put the spark plug back in the bad cylinder and fill it through the intake with atf/ marvel mystery so then it can soak the valve and hopfully make it so it would have a better chance of a evenly seating

Michael it’s an engine you’ll get it cleaned up and it will run. The problem is the water is done damage to your bearings and later on down the road you will have a problem with the engine. But good luck I hope everything turns out well for you.

Best advice I can give. Pull it (the engine) pull the heads sand the cylinder walls down enough till you can get it to roll over. Pop out the pistons If you try to spin it with that piston rusted like that you will damage the piston , rings, and cylinder wall for sure. If you break it down you will only need rings and a fresh one hone job on the cylinders and put it back together. If you really want yo bandaid it just to get it running. Pull the head on the bank with the rusted piston sand the walls down to get rid of the rust enough to pop the piston out . New rings a piston hone that one cylinder and put it back together
@joemusicman64

Agree. Turning the engine with that cylinder all rusty will just damage it more. Clean it up first.

You also really don’t want to lubricate the seals on the fuel injectors, they are Teflon and easily swell up and leak. I’m in Canada and my local pricing for a LS3 376/480 (ls3 with hot came rated just under 500hp) is 11k.

I would fill that bad cylinder full of Evaporust. The stuff is awesome. I use it to revive old, rusty axles on Hot Wheels. It erases rust and doesn't even hurt the paint or plastic. Obviously you would have to flush the pan out, but you're gonna have to do that anyway....

Don’t be afraid to run the engine at idle with that mixture in the crank just not very long to three minutes and don’t rev engine at all. Then drain I’ve done it dozens of times and it does not hurt anything, but actually gets the gunk out of the oil ports and bearings.

Good stuff Mike. Small wins, will lead to victory. I would definitely pull the heads and get them machined. Clean out the top of the cylinder walls by hand. That rust is surface. But if it’s not, you will know for sure when you pull the heads. I would definitely give it a shot before going to a complete rebuild on a 14k mikes motor.
