This was a phenomenal explanation, thank you guys!

Omg thank you so much. I didn't know I was too far dow when unracking. I would always struggle when unracking, it felt like another rep. But with your method, the unracking felt as effortlessly as you said. Wow. I am a newbie with 4 months experience. Started with 3 reps on 185, now I'm at 10 reps with 185, working on 225x10 :D wish me luck. But thank you so much!

I have a huge problem with the liftoff, even on a weight I can rep for 5 I can’t even lift it off the bar, no matter what I do. I arch, brace, go on my toes, I just can’t get it. If I go to farther up the bench it gets easier but then I can’t press it because the rack pins are right above me now.

I have the same problem. The pins are probably too high or too low for the average person. The gym bought equipment that is not suitable for the average joe and should be replaced with benches that have 3 settings not 2.

Working 225 for 5 today and on the second set I set like my shoulder was gonna pop out the socket. That's why I'm here lol

@@MadScientistDuffin I use this everytime thanks to you. My rotator had issues due to my "getting it up menality" Now I think "like a snake" it just bounces up into position.

Something that seems to always be left out of these vids are where to set the bar pegs and how much bend at the elbows. I lift alone. I’m at a gym where once I get in to lifting heavy the top pegs are too high so my arms are already close to lockout. If I set the bar on the lower pegs the bar is now too close to my chest. Once my shoulders blades are retracted (the heavy weight alone pushes my shoulders back) for the lift I can’t get the bar over the tips of the pegs. This is for both lift off and putting back therefore forcing me to put the bar back onto the lower pegs. The result…it is too dangerous for me to do bench press on the actual bench. I’m forced to use smith machine or dumbells. I don’t know if this can be remedied by me…I mentioned it to the gym manager and they don’t seem to care. Only a few people actually use this bench and they have a spotter. I’m not so short…5’9” so I’m very average and this bench is not designed for average.

This isnt heavy weight though, is this supposed to work when your are working at around the 3rm hypertrophy?

All about exact rack height and not having and exaggerated jhook. Globo gyms are horrible for this technique with long and high hooks.

never completed lift unassisted, ,key point make sure your Gym has bench so high off the ground that your knees are @ 0:14 below the bench. most gums you are level or your legs are off the bench
