Thanks for posting. I was looking for a recipie the other day. My grandmother was from Eijsden in Limburg and made this a lot when I was young. She passed away 25 years ago and the only only time I have had it since was when I went to Limburg to visit family. Now I can make it at home❤❤

Wow, delicious! My mother, who was from Maastricht, would also make this with rabbit hindquarters sometimes, then debone when done simmering. We'd put it over steamed white long grain rice as well. My next recipe to make! I grew up having zuurvlees (beef or rabbit) at least once a week as a child!

How interesting, you uploaded a recipe on zuurvlees the same day FoodTube uploaded their recipe on zuurvlees, although one is Dutch and the other one is Flemish. In any case, I'm glad to see you back and I'll be looking forward to your other recipes!

Ontbijtkoek is the traditional one. Hard to find in other countries. My honey cake recipe works really well.
