I have small hands so I really appreciate that you made this video! Growing up my piano teachers told me I'd make a horrible pianist, because I don't have long fingers. I'm 39 and I'm trying to learn how to play the cello because my son plays it. :)

I'm really glad you found this video helpful! Don't let anyone tell you that the size of your hands can limit your musical abilities. Yes, you may have to adapt a bit and find the techniques that work best for you, but there have been countless successful musicians who haven't let small hands hold them back. Take pianists like Mikhail Pletnev and Yuja Wang for instance, both recognized for their exceptional performances and yet neither of them have particularly large hands. They've found their own ways to master the instrument, and you can do the same with the cello. It's wonderful that you're taking up the cello and sharing this journey with your son. My best wishes to both of you!

I have been playing full size cello for 38 years and have recently had to switch down to 3/4 due to osteoarthritis all over and chronic neck pain. If i could find a 7/8 that would be lovely but I have small hands and am barely 5ft 4 anyway. Being able to still play if only for short periods is wonderful and so important for my wellbeing ❤❤

Thank you for sharing your journey. It's inspiring to hear that you're adapting to a 3/4 size cello due to osteoarthritis and neck pain. The size doesn't define the musician; your passion and years of experience do. I'm so glad you can still find joy and well-being through playing, even for shorter periods. You're a true testament to the resilience and adaptability that music can foster.❤

Very generous sharing by Maxim. I want to say his Udemy courses are wonderful. In just under 9 months, I went from total beginner to playing in higher positions and playing pieces that I never thought to attempt, like humoresque. All thanks to Maxim, who has been my main learning resource since I began. I would highly recommend his beginner course. I have completed his beginners and pre-intermediate courses and am going to move on to the next level course now. Thank you Maxim, Its been my dream to learn Cello, and since my retirement last year , you've helped me on this journey that brings me much joy every day. And because I can't really afford a regular personal teacher, you've allowed me to be on budget and to save for a better cello !

Could you make a video on how to play tarantella from popper on cello? This would be so helpful if you can.

I have come to the conclusion that the Tree Frog is the best equipped to play Cello. 🙂

Absolutely! It can do it as easily as a human to claim a tree and serenade on top of it 🤣

Hello. Is there any intermediate cello etude you can recommend?
@Cellopedia Жыл бұрын
I would suggest learning S.Lee etudes Op.31. In fact, there is Cellopedia Course to work on it www.udemy.com/course/intermediate-cello-course-slee-melodic-etudes-op31no1-6/?couponCode=SUMMERTIME
