Remember to convert where necessary...For Example, 206.6 KW = 206.6 KW x 1000 = 206,600 VA and when 206,600 VA ÷ 1000 = 206.6 KVA....you know the drill.

Great video. Do i use RLA or LRA for load calculations for single dwelling?
@MasterTheNEC6 ай бұрын
Why are you using RLA or LRA for a single family dwelling calculation? If you are doing noncoincident loads and it just happens to be Heating vs AC and you are calculating the amps for compressor let's say then you use the FLC.
@albertosotelo6636 ай бұрын
@@MasterTheNEC What information should I gather from the a.c plaque when determining the load factor for my load calculations. I need to see if I can add a 40a breaker.
@MasterTheNEC6 ай бұрын
The way you're asking the question tells me it is not for an exam prep. You are asking how to determine if an existing service that can handle additional AC equipment loads or you are trying to calculate an existing load situation and need to determine how to figure in the AC vs Heat. So, that means you should be looking at 220.83(A) or (B). So, as a long standing tradition I am not going to "educate" in the comments area. You can submit your question to PaulAbernathy.com and provide your variables, such as the AC units Compressor HP, any condenser fans HP, is a air handler involved and it's HP and we can work the math and help you. Not going to use KZbin comments for that.
@MasterTheNEC6 ай бұрын
Quick Answer....you are going to use the FLC of the motors (hermetically sealed motor is still a motor) to calculate the service loads but the nameplates itself list the info for the branch circuit information.

Can you please Help me with this Question found answer but not very clear. Wireways shall not contain more than____ current carrying conductors at any cross section. A. 10 B. 20 C. 30 D. 50
@MasterTheNEC3 ай бұрын
Not sure what you are asking. The question is worded poorly as you can have more than 30 CCC's in a wireway but doing so would require an adjustment to take place that will render the conductors useless in terms of ampacity as a result. That is not really what the question is asking. So, say you exceed 30 CCC's as stated in 376.22(B), then you run into a 40% or even 35% derating leaving the conductors virtually useless. For example, say you have 12 AWG THHN and the are 30 amps at 90°C for adjustment purposes, 30A x .40 = 12 Amps and makes the installation pointless if your desire was to have 12 AWG at 20 Amps. So, doesn't make it impossible just not practical. So, to me the question is poorly written as to the answer it seeks. Plausibly the only real correct answer would be 50 as that is the only one that exceeds 30 and would envoke the adjustment from hell on the conductors.

Why not just visit our website at www.FastTraxSystem.com and watch come of the video demos on the courses. All our courses are clearly labeled on our website. FYI- We do not produce any "video courses" as all our courses are "reading" based and require the student to actually READ the content and be questioned on it.

I am a four year apprentice. None of this is making sense to me. I’m good at doing the work but not so much understanding the code book. I need to prepare for the Journeymans test here in California. I fear that I am not ready for the fast trax program if I can’t even understand this video.
@MasterTheNEC Жыл бұрын
My friend ...How could you say that when the questions identify what you don't know. The Fast Trax is designed to teach you. You have the totally wrong mentality going into any prep for an exam. Why would you need to know the NEC before you even started the Fast Trax. That what the program is going to teach you. Read AGAIN again what you wrote. These questions identify what you don't know....has nothing to do with the Fast Trax, which will teach you what you need to know.

250.68(C) Grounding Electrode Conductor Connections. It talks about having the ground rod into the wall, but what if someone has just the #6 copper wire in the wall instead and the copper is connected to the rebar and that is incased in the concrete. Is this valid for 2020 code?

Our Fast Trax teaches the NEC. Every state based their electrical exams on the NEC so our Fast Trax dedicated to that. We do not teach osha, we don't teach local laws and rules....we focus on the NEC only. On Texas, the exam is 100% about the NEC and our program is awesome in Texas..in fact, we are located in Texas.
