When I see this I remember how it was painting dwarfs in late 90s. Paints in those Hexapots (better for holding minis with some bluetack than holding paints!). But the range!!! Enchanted blue, Goblin green, red gore, sunburst yellow, scorched earth, snakebite leather, liche purple, dwarf flesh, Chaos black, bleached bones, boltgun metal, chainmail and the smell of black and Chestnut ink on a Sunday morning! Thanks for this! 👍 For mixing paints! And the result of that Chaos dwarf is wow!
@hairysticks74 Жыл бұрын
So, I used to paint like this years ago, mixing my own colours as I didn't have a lot of them. Now as I'm older (a lot older ) I haven't done it in such a long time as my paint colection is so big now. I'm definately going to go back to this at some point and just mix away 👍. Great video!

That whole generation of single-pose plastics is really fun to paint - if you're doing just one of them. At the time they were meant to build cheap units, so for the true 90s experience you should loop this video twenty times.

Got to love the Old Chaos Dwarves used to collect them back in the day lol. Just shows you don't need all these multitude of paints and air brush shenanigans to make an amazing looking painted mini. Back in the days of goblin green and sand bases, not like nowadays how many get really annoyed if the base doesn't outshine the mini - nobody cares what a base looks like when they are ranked up hahaha

Great video. I mix my paints in a similar manner, but you're certainly at expert level! It looks fantastic! Side note: my favorite part of your set is the Mega-Gargant box in the background... 'cause I happen to own THAT exact Mega-Gargant! I bought the 'Eavy Metal studio model from GW... geez, in the late 90s? As far as I know, they were simply trying to make space and getting rid of some of their studio-painted models (crazy!) and I wound up with the Bad Moonz Mega-Gargant which has been sitting on my bookshelf ever since (don't worry, it's inside a clear plastic display box, no dust on it!). Back to the video: I've got a set of these classic mono-pose Chaos Dwarves... and I've got some old GW paints (still good!) in those classic hex bottles... gonna see about following your instructions here... and look up Warcolours too! :-)

If you dont enjoy painting leather, here is a super easy recipe I have enjoyed for your consideration: base-coat with balor brown, strong dark wash with rhinox hide, scratchy highlights with balor brown (and maybe skrag brown for older/shallower scratches to add visual interest).Thats it! Its super easy and, I think, very effective. Great video!
