Interesting. The most important management skill is the ability to help people succeed and achieve their best - as suggested. This is primarily achieved through an understanding of human behaviour in general and at work. People do not always behave the same at work as they do outside of it. One of the most signficant influences on work place behaviour is organisational culture and its many expections including the behaviour of staff and managers. For a manager a primary pre-requisite to the successful management of people is the establishment and maintenance of a positive working environment to aid the promotion of success.

It's so true that being promoted for technical skills often leaves a gap in the people skills department, which are crucial for effective leadership

I ve used reflective listening and the coworkers thought I was a bit daft and re explained themselves. It was very weird.
@sylviaschaffner25515 ай бұрын
In hindsight it probably looked like I was more asking for an explanation than reflective listening. I m working on my assertive communication
@unreeel21056 ай бұрын
This is great. However, it must be acknowledged that different cultures respond varyingly to a direct - assertive approach.

How many levels of people has Kara actually managed or coached. Nice fundamentals until the real world shows up. Umm just read how to win friends and influence people. I have conducted over 2.5M 360 assessments. Yes directness in a nice way is best. As a leader hire slow, fire fast, and quit cherry picking your own tasks. coach and mentor others that have better knowledge skills and experiences than you do. Just ask people what are their passion skills and what opportunities there are in the organization to make that happen. Do this weekly and you will know. Kara you are full of BS and haven’t actually dealt with the real world. Sad.
