Two truly gutsy moves by Dave: Early bishop sac and deliberately allowing his queen to be trapped. Dave's trapped queen was just as inactive as Duck's queen, but Dave's queen was also immobilizing Duck's rook, knight and bishop (for a while). Sacs are often not entirely sound but so shocking that the opponent messes up. But the computer showed Dave's sac was very sound. In fact, after 2:00 he had some even better moves...perhaps they were: b4 ... Qb6 a5 ... Qa7

I think it is just great that Coffee Chess has a mix of different kind of players . Today Dave decided : i'm going all in right from the get go and he did VERY good , but i'm also a little surprised that Duck did not see how he could get the trapped Queen of Dave . The Duck never really had a chance to get the queen. Only once, when Dave moved his bishop to f2 was it possible. the duck's queen had to defend the rook pawn from Dave's queen.

Chess masters who set up shop taking on all comers for money had to also be entertainers. This tradition carried on to friends playing casual games. At 5:05 Duck should've played knight on H6, than white queen takes rook on E8, king takes queen on E8, bishop takes knight on F6, threating with queen - check fork, so knight goes to G4 threating mate next move and attacking bishop on F6.

I am rated 2175 and I can tell you there were very, very few missed tactics, none of them easy. When Dave retreated his bishop to f2, that was the Duck's only chance to win the queen.
