Technical question on the mevo. I have one with the pro package and how precise do you need to be on ball placement to get the correct readings. Eg: If I place the ball and get a 4" reading on one swing, then the next ball is 1" closer to the monitor will I get a low point that is 5" when it was actually still 4" on the next swing? Can the monitor adjust for that, and if so, how much? It's not super important on an indoor mat where you can mark a spot, but on a grass range when your moving around a bit it could be a major issue. Thanks for the great video.
@scotthogangolf Жыл бұрын
You need to be reasonably close, to the spot but you have a small window. That is the challenge outside, so when i'm outside and hitting off grass and I need a good club read, I typically hit off a tee that is pushed in low to the ground. That's one of the benefits of the more expensive units they can read the change in positioning and adjust.

Love the video. Unfortunately I don’t have a track man. I have a gc2 hmt. How do I use it for low point? Thanks
@scotthogangolf11 ай бұрын
Yea unfortunately you won't get that number. You could do some manual drills to determine low point. Also angle of attack is a closely related number to check out.

Fascinating. Great video! I took a look about 3 months ago my low point averaged 4. I've been working on a few changes to my swing (not low point focused). However, yesterday I averaged 6.0. I would say the majority were in the 5-7 range but quite a bit of variation with a low of 3.1 and a high of 11.2. That's out of 44 shots with a 7 iron.

Nice work! It's key to just getting things to dial in for more control, but it's a good start!

Great detail on the wrists and face control and how they tie to pelvis rotation. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that on a video before but it’s key

💯percent the number one ‘imperative’ that we build distance control, trajectory, dynamic loft off of. Used to be with our junior elites and mini tour players , but in the last couple of years with students becoming more intelligent’ regarding technology we have been incorporating this as one our KPI’s for everyone.

Hey Scott, love your videos! I've got a question for you -- I remember a while back you posted a video that you were going to move to the X3, but it looks like you are still using the Mevo+. Did you get the X3 and find it wasn't worth the upgrade? I'm asking because I'm trying to decide if I should go with the Mevo+ with the pro package, or jump up to the X3. I teach golf, and am also a scratch player that would absolutely love all of the club/swing data points. I'm trying to figure out just how much more accurate is the X3 vs Mevo+ with PP. Should also note it will be primarily used indoors, with infrequent trips to the range. Would love your thoughts!
@scotthogangolf Жыл бұрын
X3 has some obvious benefits like environmental optimizer and better use off grass because the unit can find the ball and make adjustments for ball placement on the fly. I hit and teach off mats almost exclusively so the Mevo+ has just become the go to monitor especially after I saw it's performance compared to the big units (not just X3).

Scott, I don't understand why AOA isn't a direct correlation to low point? If you have a negative AOA, low point is obviously in front of the ball and conversely if AOA is positive the low point is obviously behind the golf ball. Why is the measurement of how far in front or behind the ball important?
@scotthogangolf5 ай бұрын
Not sure why I didn't respond for so long. But in theory AoA and low point correlate a little, but I can hit really down on the ball and have my low point only be slightly in front of the ball which leaves very little room for error, so having both is very helpful.

I have the Garmin R10. Does the R10 show the low point and if not, is the a way to approximate that number ? Thanks
@scotthogangolf2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't, I don't believe, but angle of attack would give you an idea and also how much dynamic loft you have.
