Video games have abandoned art direction for “fidelity” (which itself is a catch 22 since modern games use optimization software just to run stable at 30 fps lol)

Same man, FC5 felt like a typical American rural area. It felt alive, loved all the characters, from the simple side characters to the Seed family. Loved the story a lot, the ambience was amazing. New dawn was unique, seeing hope county in such a different way. The ambience was a lot different but I think they did it very well.

I was surprised to see bayonets & throwable shields in this game which sadly weren’t carried over to 6. New dawn also had a really fun open world gameplay loop with all the random encounters

When FC5 appeared, I didn't like it that much because of the drastic change from FC4 to 5, but when New Dawn got announced it kinda hyped me because it looked good, I loved the colors, the weapons, the awesome takedown animations and ESPECIALLY the soundtrack. Damn, those main menu ones are so damn good, and I dig the in game radio music. I prefer this over 5

I’m currently replying FC5 for the first time since launch. I can’t believe it’s been 6 years! It’s so weird. I’ll constantly pause the game and flashback to my life 6 years ago, the things I was struggling with at the time, how much my life has changed since then. 2018 was a magical year for me. I started healing, feeling stronger and happy again. I specifically remember it was a beautiful spring (and summer) that year and the sun was gently shining on my face as I met Faith for the first time and was swept away by her beautiful F’d up bliss magic. Ah So many memories! These games really make such an impact ❤ Replaying New Dawn is next.

I just finished FC5 and although he was good, I just didn't think Joseph Seed had much to do in FC5. I'd be surprised if you told me he was in more than 3 or 4 cut scenes. Is he in New Dawn more???

One thing I really liked was replaying outposts and each time you do it’s a higher level than before. I had a lot of fun having to figure out different strategies due to having more enemies to deal with. Also, my childhood dog was named Timber so that companion will always be my favorite.

I couldn't agree more about the RPG elements feeling out of place in far cry titles. I gave up on far cry 6 after about 10 hours because of it. I will go back and try again but it doesn't appeal to me. I like to know that I win a fight due to skill and technique more so than levelling up before hand. I'm currently playing Borderlands 1 for the first time and quickly realised that skill means absolutely nothing if you're picking a fight with someone too far outside of your current level category.

Crazy to think. The idea behind FCND was pretty interesting. I didn't hate it but there were a few issues. I'd definitely say it's better than FC6, seeing how the areas you capture reset after a certain amount of time (the sole reason I stopped playing it). Unfortunately, if this continues in the far cry series I probably won't play anymore

So I had only ever played Far Cry 4 before I got this and didnt really enjoy that (took me like 2 years to beat it too) but I honestly really quite loved New Dawn. I got it 3 or 4 years ago and actually like finished in one “session”. It was a fun and enjoyable to play

I genuinley loved New Dawn. I think the main antagonists were lacking and kinda boring and annoying even, but I enjoyed the game and loved the open world. Also, I got around 45 hours in that game so... I'd say it was worth it. Edit: Eliminating a max level outpost with an upgraded bow and without ever being seen is one of the best feelings ever. I love stealth and in my opinion it was great (I did play a while ago so i might not remember all the bad about the game)

I've played FC new dawn, that game almost got me angry because of the villains, but I don't think that I've done 50% of progression. But I will try to play new dawn again once I have ps plus extra. Brutal to think that the stealth kill in any outpost may be one of my hardest stealth because it's Frustrating when the enemy easily caught me in outpost. This is my second far cry game I've played by the way.

Quite honestly. I think this is my personal favorite game in the series. I love RPGs, so those mechanics didn't bother me. And the superpowers really help me feel strong, which is something I love in games. Something you don't get to experience in life, but can experience in games easily. I also am a HUGE fan of Joseph, in 5 and New Dawn, I think he's one of my favorite written antagonists in all of gaming. But that's mostly because I love maniacs who know they are right, in their own mind. And especially the twist where he *WAS* right, was great. I understand people's fatigue with the series, and Ubisoft's shitty practices lately have me upset. But I also gotta say, that these games are very fun, for someone who is relatively new to the series. And is going through them. But I also like the basic formula that they have, where there is a bunch of tasks to do... It's kinda gaming junk food for me, with a pretty compelling story as well.

Well first things first with what you said about playing the game with friend, i agree because i m not sure which resident that got so much hate wheter it was the 5th or the 6th, but i played both with my friend during pandemic and it was like i didnt even wanna leave the seassion. And the second where you said about time moving faster after pandemic i get the same feeling like it wasnt even yesterday where it was just 2017. And i think because i cant "catch up with" the time i have depressions. But thats beside the point, just wanna say that you really make me feel old. :D

Nice video, I've played both Far cry 5 and Far cry new dawn 3 times with 100% completion. I really enjoyed Far cry new dawn after i finished Far cry 5 it was new fresh good story good gameplay. Unfortunately Far cry 6 didn't have polished visuals and they removed the melee combat style it felt more like Far cry 3 and 4 i was expecting a little more from that game . The next Far cry game probably Far cry 7 is more likely to change from duna engine and give us a new Far cry nect gen experience .

Far cry 4 is my favourite far cry because it has a really good balance between exploration and liberating outposts. Far cry 5 felt a bit too easy in exploration and liberating outposts (especially to do it in complete stealth) just didn't feel the same. New Dawn added those elements back into the game, therefore I enjoy new Dawn more than fc5

Yeah the major problem was that Ubisoft sold this as a full game while it was basically just a big DLC for 5. But I would still take 5 New Dawns over 1 Primal. I cant stand Primal.

Far Cry new dawn was a spin off of Far Cry 5 yes, but primal was another seperate big game, maby the map design was a bit lazy, but it's another big seperate game which is set in 10000BCE central europe, it doesn't have that big connection between 4.

The twins in new dawn were kindof generic and not very memorable in my opinion+I felt like new dawns story could have been better if you played as the deputy from 5 and had joseph actually interacting with the previous survivors from hope county like nick rye kim pastor Jerome etc.would have made the game alot more impactful in my opinion+I felt like the game should have been longer tbh.

I remember back then my 14 year old self really didn’t like this game mainly bc of the rpg mechanics, the over abundance of neon pink, and the music was just absolute trash in my mind especially on the radios, has my opinion on the game well somewhat, my opinion has softened and I now see it in a better light but I still don’t like the rpg mechanics and while my hate towards neon pink has softened, I still really really hate the highwaymen radio music I’m sorry but that music truly is trash
