seemed pretty evident that Origins had some major issues during its development that ended up impacting the story. that aside, people who say Bayek is always angry must not have done a lot of side content, the flea of Cyrene is often a joy to have in your company & he's often just a kind, helpful person who falls into a life of protecting humanity instead of just protecting royals.

Origins became my favorite games in the franchise because how the whole story and journey unfolds between the main game and DLC, love the character and setting so much. The combat and stealth work great and allow for some creative gameplay once you see how you can effect the npc's and environment. The attention to detail and sheer amount of activity going on. People say open worlds are empty and yeah you said it, despite being set in an actual desert there is alot of stuff going on all over.
@CinematicSeriesGaming Жыл бұрын
I just started replaying this game YESTERDAY. Now that I have a monster PC, I can experience it in 4k on ultra and the game is absolutely beautiful. It's extremely immersive, the open world is amazing, the gameplay is very smooth and I just love all the details put into this game. The only think that slightly bothers me is that NPCs can behave a bit weird at times. There are a few details about AI that just trigger me, like the fact that Hepzefa plows through pedestrians when we ride camels, NPC buggies and charriots do weird things or when NPC start climbing stuff for no reason. But in general, Origins is a masterpiece! I'm still salty that Bayek was robbed of the trilogy he clearly deserved. He was the most compelling and interesting protagonist since Edward and Ezio. The 2nd game could easily pick up where Origins ended and send Bayek on a quest to find the lost Apple in Judea, while he helps Kawab and the local Hidden Ones continue the fight against Roman occupation. We could see a wiser and more assassin-like Bayek who wears dark robes, blends in the crowds, ditches the shield in favour of smaller weapons and starts relying on parkour, stealth and tools instead on brute force. And the last part of the trilogy would culminate in Rome. Just like Origins gave us scaled down Egypt, the 3rd game could give us a scaled down portion of the Italian Peninsula with Rome as its biggest city + a lot of smaller cities, towns, villages as well as mountains, plains and countrysides filled with side activities, side quests and Roman forts. This hypothetical 3rd game is the most exciting to me because it has insane potential for storytelling and gameplay. We could see how the Hidden Ones adopted all key Assassin tenets. We could see why Bayek was ultimately forgotten and Amunet was not - perhaps there was some sort of conflict between the two or maybe Bayek left the order in the end. We could see the iconic scene alluded to back in AC2 where Amunet kills Cleopatra with the snake. We could see Bayek continue his fight against Order of the Ancients who is now led by Emperor Octavian. We could see returning characters like Esio of Cyrene, who was sent to Rome by Bayek to be trained under Aya. This trilogy could have put AC back on the map as one of the most compelling narrative-driven series on the market! It would be so much better than 2 random games about Spartans and Vikings! And gameplay-wise, the trology like this would be a golden opportunity to combine the new light-RPG elements of Origins with more classic AC features! For starters, we could see the return of social stealth and more technical parkour. Part 3 would also be a perfect opportunity to bring back the Brotherhood system where Bayek & Aya recruit talented rebels to make them Hidden Ones and then call them to help out during missions. We could even have a brand new skill tree dedicated to the recruits and their abilities. They could distract enemies, steal stuff, stealthily assassinate guards, start open combat or snipe enemies with bows from afar. We could have a 2-player co-op mode where one player is Bayek and 2nd is Aya and a whole series of missions where both characters work together. We could also see something like the Cult of Cosmos system from Odyssey but actually good - a series of "Templar" targets controlling different parts of the Roman Empire, each of whom would have a dedicated black-box Hitman-like mission where we get to choose how to assassinate them. Abandoning Bayek has to be the biggest blunder in AC history since Ubisoft decided to sideline the modern day plot. It was such a dumb move. The story and gameplay write themselves here! I was 100% sure they would make sequels after I finished Origins and they just didn't. Why???
@MultiKamil97 Жыл бұрын
Honestly I think that playing as Bayek in 3 big games would be really boring. We had it in Ezio trilogy and already Revelations was a bit criticised for making us play Ezio again. I like Bayek but there are other great characters waiting in queue to play their role in this series. I think a better option would be a big DLC, where Bayek goes to Rome. I don't think it would be that time-consuming for Ubisoft to create Rome on a new engine for one DLC. After all, they would just have to take the assets from Brotherhood and kinda transfer them into a new engine while changing some things to make them fit better in that time period.

Ezio was unknowingly guided by the brotherhood members to become an assassin. Aya and Bayek had to learn from their mistakes. That was really solid story-wise. Hunting for specific animals was a huge pain in the ass, especially when some of them had only 1 leather in them. It was especially grindy in The Curse of The Pharaophs DLC were you had to collect those grey crystals to upgrade your gear to maximum. Those crystals were quite hard to find when you already finished the game. I had to roam around the afterlife worlds to find enough of them.

Recently I asked myself the question, “what made exactly this game so thrilling and interesting to play besides the massive open world that we got?” Well there is no simple answer to that but if we compare it to odyssey and Valhalla, this game was truly made up for the plot. It was somewhat long for playing through the campaign and yet I didn’t get bored. The characters were good and the emotions they were going through were perfectly represented (by the dialogues and the pace of actions not by the facial expressions :D). Every single mission of the story was close to the previous one and we didn’t have to go over 10 outposts and 5 side quests to get to the desired level (like in ac odyssey). Off course we need to explore a bit and make this kinda quests but they were less. I still gotta admit that if I was going for the next main story mission below the advised level, the game was more punishing than in odyssey. Even if it was not for the story so much and for the gameplay and progress system, the game looked and felt RIDICULOUSLY authentic and real. It’s not like we ever lived in this period 😅, but the game definitely allowed us to feel like an Egyptian citizen. Ubisoft might be one of the most disappointing companies in the last 10 years in terms of their core gameplay, story telling, pace of the games and even optimisation, but when it comes to setting…damn they deliver EVERY time!

It's 2024 and I was looking for a game to play on my abandoned PS4 and found this gem. And I love it. I can see myself playing it for a long time, graphics are great for a 7 yo game, the story, the characters and the acting are great. The playability is very good and the world is huge. The leveling up is a bit too slow, you need to do thousands of side quests to get the xp needed to do the story missions but the side quests don't feel like the repetition of the same mission over and over like other games, they have a story behind and the rewards are worthy of your time. This game has aged very well.

You touched on it a bit, and I agree, but part of what makes Origins so good is the story: The hook itself is simple and straightforward while also not allowing itself to get watered down by side quests and stories and allowing the main character to evolve. Assassin's creed origins had always felt like the last Assassin's creed game that was Assassin's creed. Assassin's creed odyssey was a god simulator with a cult that felt like an army of Walmart brand templars. Assassin's creed valhalla tried to be both Assassin's creed and god simulator without recognizing you can't do both and succeed because people want one consistent thing, not two things that essentially makes people question "how does these two things connect with eachother, not counting the crazy woman?" Whenever I think of Assassin's creed origins, I think back to what old Altair said in revelations. "Aahhh ... the end of an Era."

5:35 - Also, most Egyptian civilians wear only basic linen cloth, so Bayek in full armor would always stand out, so the only realistic way to feature social stealth in Origins would be if it used the AC Liberation system where it would be outfit dependant - regular armor for access to weapons and equipment, civilian outfit for crowd blending but limited weapons, and perhaps Egyptian soldier outfit for infiltrating forts.

It was the first 60fps game I ever played and the story and gameplay were a perfect match at the time for me. Because of this game, it has made me want to go back and play all the AC games to experience the culture and immersion of each time period while exploring the overall lore of the universe between the Brotherhood and Templars. I usually have some very highly crafted armor n equipment before meeting Aya for the first time. You should see my when I'm upgrading the Hidden Blade all at once. I only slow down in my crafting when I can't get enough carbon crystals.

Me too with crafting , AND THEN I remembered that there are 3 carbons per box in Sinai DLC... FYI :)

@@6Tbone---I remember that about the Sinai DLC. I thought that was a nice feature.

I loved this game when it came out .. I usually rush through AC games main storylines & skip side missions or side content but I knew I was getting close to beating this game & to prolong it just did any side content I could to keep playing

The setting makes even more sense when you consider that ezio has a statue of amunet in his basement

Origins is my second favorite game in the series (or maybe third with Brotherhood being second) behind Assassin's Creed 2. Egypt is a gorgeous setting, Bayek is my second favorite protagonist after Ezio, I really like the new combat, there are no bonus objectives for 100% completion, and the assassination memory corridors are fantastic. Plus the two DLCs particularly the hidden ones DLC and Bayek's hidden ones outfit are some of my favorites in the series for the DLCs and the outfits. Not to mention the game isn't over-bloated like Odyssey and Valhalla though I still enjoy those games as well. Things I don't like about Origins are having to constantly carry people out of forts in side missions, having to upgrade the hidden blade just to get an instant kill, getting detected the moment an enemy catches a glimpse of you, having to play the final mission as Aya, and having to ride a long distance through the desert to get to the tomb on the Southeast corner of the map. Plus the hippodrome races are frustrating and the civilians repeat the same dialogue no matter what city you're in.

What are the odds that this was posted 16 hours after i completed the game for the first time. I really enjoyed the setting and story of this game. I had a 65 hr playthrough.

I really liked Origins. It’s just kinda sad how it became the catalyst for the wacky demigod non-assassin assassin’s creed era

I loved playing this game upon release, but I did think I did play more of Odyssey, but I still think origins is my number one favorite only because it was the first assassin’s Creed game I ever got to play in the series and yes I know I’m late in traffic and I got caught up it’s just vibrant and beautiful. It feels like you’re really there in Egypt. And I love Egypt mythology. I play it off and on every year or two.
