for the smoke cover, the guy making that mod should make the handle a loop, so you can stick like a fork prong through it to lift it off when you don't have gloves on.

I just looked at these yesterday and liked that it comes with the griddle. It has claims of being able to heat pretty quickly. I’m doing some research to see if it’s a buyer or not. I had a pit boss pro pellet smoker and dumped it. I’m kind looking into a vision kamado ceramic grill or a vertical Oklahoma Joe charcoal smoker but this is something with more simplicity l like my pit boss that I did like.
@NoEyeDeerOutdoors
@NoEyeDeerOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Aaron has a green egg and it produces some excellent food. The griddle is a very nice option to have for sure. Our experience lends to this being almost as simple as a set it and forget it but just as a versatile (if not more versatile) than other charcoal smokers. It takes our masterbuilt about 10-15 minutes to get up to 450 (less time for lower temps obviously), and much of that will obviously depend on your ambient temp. Thanks for checking us out….let us know what you end up going with and share how you like it.

Masterbuilt would want you to say that you should use Masterbuilt lump charcoal. You forgot to demonstrate the nice feature of the shelves that hold your Busch Lights and that White Claw that is disguised in that Yeti Low Ball Tumbler. Do you also have any mods for the bottom of the charcoal hopper to prevent it from dropping the charcoal too fast? Now you're gonna have to go and get a Char-Griller Gravity Feed Smoker/Grill and have a side by side cook-off comparison between the two.

Wondering How efficient the 800 is? How often do you use the grill and for how long on average? Wondering how long it takes to go through a 20 LB bag of charcoal.
@NoEyeDeerOutdoors
@NoEyeDeerOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for checking out the video. On average, Adam grills/smokes 3-4 times per week during the spring, summer, and fall months. During the winter, he grills/smokes 2-3 times per week. It’s much more efficient than an open charcoal grill like a kettle or natural flow offset charcoal. It’s slightly more efficient than a kamodo. A 20 lb bag of regular briquettes lasts at least 7-8 cooks for stuff like brats, burgers, and steals. A 20 lb bag would last 4-5 cooks for chicken or other slightly longer grill cooks. And for the low and slow 10-16 hour smokes, I usually go through about 3/4 of a 20 lb bag. I hope that makes sense. Thanks again for stopping by!

@NoEyeDeerOutdoors
@NoEyeDeerOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
We did not know that about the 560. The 800 does not seem to be too bad with the grease leaks. Clean up has been slick. We just line the bottom interior components with foil and then replace as needed. But once you get the baffle out, the entire bottom tray slides out. I’d assume that would be rather easy to clean once detached from the unit. Thanks for checking out our video!

You can mix wood chunks in with the charcoal, yes. We’ve found, however, that if you’re smoking below 225, lump charcoal alone is enough without any wood chunks added. I’d we smoke above 250 or so, then straight briquettes with wood chunks added produces our preferred flavor.

Hey Tait, thanks for checking out the video. The masterbuilt gives you a wider range of smoke profiles compared to the traeger. You can use just plain old charcoal and cook hot and virtually no additional “flavor” added. Or you can cook with lump charcoal and/or add as little or as much wood chunks as you’d like to add the craziest smoke you can imagine. You can also add smoke as low as 150 and even add smoke as high as 700. Hope that helps!

Good question and we have no eye deer if you can or can’t. A quick search on the inter webs does show some people out there offering advice on the matter. It has never crossed our mind to even try for a number of reasons, but primarily because you will get a much more authentic smoke profile on your food using chunks or chips. Perhaps if you’re someone who has a bag sitting around that you need to get rid of, maybe look into it more but we would not recommend going out of your way to buy pellets vs chunks or chips. Thanks for checking out the video.

What was the ambient temp (air temp outside) while you were cooking?After looking into this a bit, the only common denominator I am finding is that you’ll get a lot of ash in the cook if you have to load more charcoal during the cook. Another common cause is when the fan will run on and off at lower temps. My only experience with ash floating around in the cook chamber is when I manage the charcoal. The other thoughts were just my findings in reading others reviews, not our own experience.

Dude, that sucks that you’ve had that experience. I guess we can’t speak to that….our unit has worked flawlessly and we’ve never had a reason to call them. Have you tried plugging the unit in?

@@NoEyeDeerOutdoors The fact that you can’t take criticism speaks volumes as to why your video has 70k+ views and only 2k subs.

Using your logic then, the fact that you took the time to criticize a video on a channel with only 2k speaks volumes. Meh. Still wouldn’t want to hang out with you and drink a white claw. But again, thanks for watching and coming back to our channel to comment. 😉

@@NoEyeDeerOutdoors I'm glad you also think so lowly of your channel. You enjoy your white claws and the extra view. Put it in the tip jar.

Good news for you, we took some advice, did some research, and shortened our intros. Good news for us, we still wouldn’t want to hang with you, Beano. Be good, fella.
