Buddy and i just assembled mine lastnight. Did the preseason right after. Cant wait for the 1st cook. Instructions sucked, but used your video as a reference. Thank you! Glad to help, and I hope your cooks come out as good as mine have. I have had a Green Mountain Grill for years, but ever since I got the Masterbuilt, we have been going strictly charcoal now due to the flavor and the meat getting dried out less. Enjoy!

Pretty sure the guidance is to pause the fan (press power button) before opening the hopper lid. if the fan had been banging hard you'd have had a face full of embers

I did beef cheeks on it for two time now , the results was very impressive,and it maintains the temp very well, i love that grill so far

Agreed, once it gets to temp, it holds extremely well!

I have the autoignite and got it started and am trying to do the preseason. It seems as though my grill turns off and keeps beeping. I have been trying to get to the 250 degree starting temp for some time.

What temperature does it get to? I have had the fire starter go out and the charcoal did not get hot enough so I had to restart the process before, but once it ignites the charcoal it is off to the races every time for me.

Nice review! How efficient is it, though? Charcoal getting expensive...

I have only done a few cooks now, but so far I am impressed. When you shut it down it does slowly burn out and will leave charcoal for your next cook. Time will tell the tale of complete efficiency!

I bought a 545 on May 6 and received it May 14 for the holiday weekend It came in defective, so I contacted masterbuild customer service, and it took a week for a response, they said they would send a Fan and then will send me a tracking # today is 6/1/2024 and still waiting. Take that into consideration when purchasing a masterbuild product. everything has to be done by e-mail no phone option. Customer service is no good.
