Thanks for posting this. I rushed to Lowe’s after watching this and reading comments. Got mine for $54. Incidentally, I’d ordered mine off of Amazon for $180 only yesterday and it was due to arrive on Saturday. Canceled the Amazon order now! Can’t wait to use it this weekend !

I am glad you enjoyed it. $54 is an incredible price! You will enjoy it. Its great portable grill, I suggest using it for hot and fast cooks, I love using mine for burgers and steaks

Cooked a nice steak tonight. Loved that char grilled taste. Been cooking reverse sear on cooktop and oven for so many years I’d forgotten how good a charcoal seared steak tasted!

One of the big downsides is after refilling ash starts to blow everywhere including on the food. Not much area for a heat source.That’s one purchase I truly regret. There’s really no way to dump the ash in the middle of a cook.
@SmokestackJoes Жыл бұрын
If you have to refill during a cook it is not ideal. I agree the ash does cause an issue. If you have to dump the ash you will need a pair of welding gloves for sure. I have found that the best use for the grill is hot and fast cooking like burgers or a steak. I think it is a great portable grill alternative to a gas powered portable grill for high heat grilling.

I love mine, I normally use briquettes however, today I am using lump charcoal, I think it will heat up to 500 degrees faster.
@SmokestackJoes Жыл бұрын
Its a great little grill, I do prefer the lump after giving the briquettes a try

Purchased for the RV and love the grill but hate the stand so removed it and replaced with folding aluminum table
@SmokestackJoes9 ай бұрын
Thats a good idea. The stand is a little weird I only like how its on wheels and its easy to move around when folded down.

What's the relevance of the black gloves, you guys don't have soap?
@SmokestackJoes6 ай бұрын
I only use the gloves when im filming because I am handling the camera equipment and need clean hands quickly while filming. I will also use them when im handling hot stuff because I can put the cotton liners underneath

How do you clean grill inside
@SmokestackJoes5 ай бұрын
You have to disassemble it and I usually use a scraper and a shop vac to clean it up

How do you get the temp up over 300? I have had a hard time getting mine over 300. Thanks!
@SmokestackJoes Жыл бұрын
I just turned the dial all the way up and it had no issue going to that high of a temp. I did notice when I was running off the batteries and they started to lose power I couldnt get my temps up past 300

your doing something wrong if you can't get it over 300..it's easy peazy.. Maybe switch to an Hibachi?

One thing they should do is seperate the charcoal box outside the lid. so you don't have to let heat out while you refill it. Nice unit. I would buy one
@SmokestackJoes Жыл бұрын
I agree! having the box externally would be much better

The instructions say "Never use fast light charcoal... ". Why?

I am not sure why they say this. It might be because it will get to hot or burn to fast

A little disappointed with the grill marks tho they don’t look too seared
@SmokestackJoes9 ай бұрын
Yeah the only way to get good grill marks is to let it sit at high heat for awhile until the grate gets really hot but once you sear the one side the grate cools off so the other side wont get any good marks. I might look into making a different style grill grate for it.

"came out perfect" what the hell you burnt the shit out out that lol. Ive had this for a while and its very easy to avoid that if you set the temp correctly.
