The days when complicated French inspired menus were the standard. But I must say I absolutely Lloyd Grossman’s interviews, talking to real chefs (and not just wannabe Food stars), talking about food in such an engaging manner. You can see that Lloyd is genuinely interested. No need for snarky or sarcastic remarks

They took such a simple programme and made it bigger and faster and brighter and louder and much more lavish. I wonder where it's going to go next?

To be honest, the dishes look absolutely hideous and unappetizing. And those plate designs aren't helping. We have really come so far in the culinary world from those days.

I miss relaxing TV with good light music and people being nice and talking without dramatic music to cover... Long ... Pauses

2:17 If you ask ANY chef in Britain who the best chef is, they ALWAYS name Pierre Koffmann. Easy on the hyperbole Loyd, Jesus.

I didn't mind this. More chill. Both versions have something to offer. Although, I think the food seems more appealing in the modern day show

This original MasterChef was snobbish. The presentation was so naff and stuffy. The judges come across as ponderous when eating.
