MasterChef Canada S01 E03 Full Episode: Mystery Box 1: In their first mystery box challenge, the Top 16 had 60 minutes to make a dish using a mystery box containing a pork loin, crunchy and smooth peanut butter, bananas, semisweet chocolate, honey, and chorizo. Carly, Eric, and Marida made the three best dishes, and Marida won the challenge and immunity with her pork and noodle stir-fry with peanut vinaigrette. Subscribe: / @masterchefworld
Elimination Test 1: In the elimination challenge, the other home cooks had 60 minutes to make a dish using one of three ingredients from the Canadian land, air, and sea, and Marida picked the smelt (over the venison and duck). The judges also allowed her to save one other home cook from elimination and she saved Brooke. Pino and Dale made the two best dishes, and they became team captains in their first team challenge. Meghan, Danny and Ben were called forward for having the worst three dishes. Ben was first eliminated, but in a surprise double elimination, Meghan was also sent home.

What I don't get is why Tamara going around Asia is a bad thing. They are such different styles of cooking, just because Spain, France and Sweden are all part of Europe doesn't mean their cooking styles are the same.

It was said as an encouragement to her to broaden her herizons to demonstrate her talents - the context being that she had cooked all Aisian-inspired/derived dishes. So say the Judges, I rather agree with you, but it wasn't 'bad' it was just 'try something new to you' kind of thing. IMHO! - and she did go on really well after taking that advice, through the seres.

She doesn't look petrified,... just very odd eyes. I wouldn't want a staring contest with her. Through that whole series she was always wearing low-cut tops and high heels/boots. I can only find one reason for that - when actually her cooking was OK. Says much that through the series she was nevr happy for other contestants when they did well and onthe day in which they were invited to bring partners and friends alone... she only had her parents. Good cook, ish, but not a very nice person in the esteem of, well apparently everybody (possible though not stated exception of her parents). I grew to dislike her through the series because she was just unpleasant to others.

Kaila gets so unfairly attacked, she messed up once in the restaurant challenge but you can't deny that she was one of the hardest workers and most supportive team players in S1. although Claudio owns several fancy restaurants, he has no knowledge of Asian cuisine. Asia includes many countries and many cuisines. geographical failure? Maybe Claudio thinks the food is from Asia , all asians eat. Lack of intellectual knowledge apparently. And Claudio favors Merida throughout this competition. Merida often cooks roti, roti and roti. nor did claudio complain to merida, just enjoy the bread. even though Chef Alvin is strict, he never complains like Claudio. All feedback from chef Alvin is feedback that builds motivation and is accurate. claudio needs to understand the main motive of Masterchef Canada.
