Yeah, but just wait until she's in HER 40s. The table may be turned! And I suspect this is exactly what Vengerov wants and expects. Often what I see as one of the main differences between Vengerov and his masterclass students is just confidence.

Wonderful masterclass. The student is very talented and accomplished, but you can hear and see the difference Maxim Vengerov makes in her playing. His demonstrations are awe inspiring. I wish there were English subtitles to enhance my understanding of Vengerov’s comments and insights. Thank you for sharing this.

Unfortunately KZbin have turned off the option of user generated subtitles, and the whole thing is probably too long for the comments, but are there any particular time-stamps where you want to know what he's saying? Apart from some very brief remarks about phrasing, this one is almost all about trying to pass on that incredibly efficient and powerful bullwhip right-hand action, reducing tension and effort for more results. And the left hand "soft, like a cat". And later, the same on the right-hand fingers, "like a cat, miaow". He also says several times "left hand first, then right hand".

Although some of us prefer the English it still gives us the signal of what he is talking about. Can you think of the repertoire in his head when he picks the instrument and be it anything from Bach Partitas to Beethoven 's Kreutzer, to Ysaye or to Franck's A major or...Shostakovich ...Mozart or Barber, ...or..... He knows them all they are all in his pocket. Amazing ! I wonder if I pick the violin and throwing notes simply inprovisingfrom my head .....is he going to pick it up and tell me how to play my own piece ! ! I remember years ago Arnold Steinhard ( Guarneri quartet first violin) master class a stutent playes the violin part of the violin- Cello sonata and there he did get stuck because he did not know it. ! But he did it, looked at the score and made his comments even if he did not know the piece.

I unabled it in settings and it still shows only German captions. Anyway thank you for helping.

@@roiehay7547 Go settings -> Subtitles/CC select on and select German. Then you get another option show: auto-translate. Select this and then English. The auto translation isn't perfect but you can get the gist of what is being said.

Yukiko must know how to control your fingering in bowing. Not just play. You should play with your mind. Technically, you should improve. This is the difference between you and Vengerov. I hope this will help you.
