Really nice trick which works wonders on your first track. I didn't realise SplitEQ had that level of control.

how can i do this with stock effects in daws
@holosuitemastering9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Good question - if you have access to the original mix, then definitely honing the stereo placement of everything, and correcting for phase issues, is the best way to get the same effect - all you'd need for that would be a phase correlation meter such as Ozone Imager for that: www.izotope.com/en/products/ozone-imager.html But if you only have the stereo premaster, then you would need to find a stock plugin that has mid-side capability - adjusting the EQ of the "side" channel is a less sophisticated equivalent to the effect in Split EQ - reducing the volume of the sides for a given frequency will "narrow" the stereo field for that frequency (although it won't correct for phase like SplitEQ will, so you'll still need to check that). Here is some info on how to activate mid-side mode in Logic: musicmixmastering.com/mid-side-processing-with-logic-pro-x-stock-plugins/ And for Ableton: noisegate.com.au/mid-side-m-s-eq-and-utility-mode-in-ableton-live-explained/ And if you're using a different DAW, you can get the basics on the concept from those first two articles and do a bit of googling around for the same or similar process in your DAW. TDR Nova also has mid-side mode and is free, you could try that: www.tokyodawn.net/tdr-nova/ Hope that helps!

Dan Worrall's channel has a lot of good info on mid / side production, often using free plugins ...

Sorry about that! Not sure why they weren't showing. I've tried to re-add them, let me know if they still don't work!
