Usually the formations varied between a 343 and a 433 depending which year and which players were there. Laudrup was at his strongest when he played the ST role as a false 9 dropping into the midfield whereas the tip of the diamond usually was Bakero who ventured into the attacking position just like Bellingham did last year. Also Begiristain and Stoichkov could play both flanks but with Laudrup at ST and Bakero as CAM Stoichkovs best position would be the RW, constantly drifting inside with his strong left foot. One other thing was the fact that back then in La Liga only 3 non-spanish players could play together at the same time so when Romario was at Barcelona often times Laudrup would be the one on the bench despite being a genius on the field.
