I am really loving this series! I followed inertias puppy videos too, but I really love how you are showing the gradual transition from structured training to real life skills. Thank you for that! I also find the ads over the top and corny... but I don't fault you for it. I know sponsors are important- and honestly I would rather an over the top ad that's obvious, than some influencers who make a genuine seeming video only for it to lead into a sponsored ad. That really frustrates me- it leaves you wondering if the whole thing was just a contracted commercial. Make it obvious its an ad and let the viewers decide if they want to "buy in"

@Karrikua2 жыл бұрын
That’s strange, I have taught it to three dogs and it was super easy. I think you just need to take it very slow, and increase the difficulty slowly but surely. But ofc dogs are different.

Agreed that dog friendly places are a must but for the sake of training I think this was done fabulously. Cool weather, close to the car so you can intervene if necessary, quick visit to check on them.. Dogs shouldn’t be left in a car but really this situation was perfectly planned and I’m sure they would have ended the dinner if necessary. I’m loving this series. Real world situations with less than perfect dogs (don’t tell them I said that), and you have great opportunities for teaching! Oh and happy birthday 🎂🎈🎉

My goofy girl is a grass clump eater too, geez what a weird obsession! I like the funny ads, they're quirky and engaging. Just wanted to say that I got my rescue girl when she was 4 months old and have been training her based on all of these puppy (and now adult dog) videos. I can't tell you how many people say she is so well behaved (she is now 2 years old). She still struggles with jumping people from time to time and grabbing gross stuff when we are hiking so even though she is an adult now I still got something worthwhile to work on with her. I love this format and thanks for all of the wonderful content. My girl Rocket thanks you too!

And my puppy is focused on frogs, cicadas, moths, and other crawly creatures on the road, so picking them up to show her “leave it” isn’t as easy, while she and the creature are running around the yard. Still working on this, she’s very scent oriented.

My 14 wk puppy last wk in the park ran towards me with a used condom in her mouth. It's safe to say my 'leave it' command sounded like a drill seargeant's command and I'm only a 7½ stone petite female. I was NOT going to be putting my hand in her mouth to extract😫😖😱🤢🤮 There is a patch of grass near my house and every day I have to take a bag to pick up the rubbish first before walking my puppy. Selfish, dirty humans.

I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. Over the last three months I have probably watched over 150 videos of dog training. I have yet to see when the addresses the issues I have. I am 71 years old I’ve had three back surgeries and two knee replacements and numerous other health problems. I cannot get down on the floor and be able to get back up. I wish you would show what to do when you’re some limited mobility for the owner. I have taught my dog Charlie, to sit , lay and come most of the time. Charlie will play tug and go fetch. House training has been a problem as to go to the backyard there’s a deck and then you have to go down the steps , some days I get down very easily other days I can’t get down at all so I’ve been training him on a potty pad ,most of the time he does pretty good but he does not initiate going on it on his own I need to take him in there and tell him to go potty. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

After watching your video, and I used to do research and watched and analyzed animal behaviour from tapes, I have few questions: I would like to see continuation of the video after 8:10, there is clear editing cut. Also at 9:15 she is clearly avoiding pieces of grass, why she is avoiding rather than walking without showing an interest. There is also clear avoiding movement at: 9:57, I would like to see continuation of the tape after 9:58, when she is approaching a big piece, again there is editing cut. I just like to see unedited tape to understand training process better.

@zakgeorge2 жыл бұрын
It seems like most of the balanced trainers I’ve seen say that they use positive reinforcement in the beginning, but I haven’t found this to be the case. They pretty quickly go into using physical corrections that are pretty harsh in my experience.

@@zakgeorge you would have to tell me who you mean i guess but i follow mostly balanced people and they would all say "leave it" is done this way 🤷♀️ my favorites are beckman and Tom davis
@quorthunsargeras70542 жыл бұрын
@@zakgeorge That's odd... All of the trainers I've worked with in the past ONLY teach using "positive" methods. They introduce prongs and ecollars after the dog 100% understands all the learned commands via positive reinforcement. If you try using aversive methods without teaching, you're going to discourage the dog from wanting to do anything. Unfortunately, as much as we want to put our trust in organizations such as "AVSAB", the recently released studies they've been putting out are very questionable and uncreditable. The beauty if science is, sometimes it's wrong and corrected in the future by better scientists and studies.

My 3 month Goldendoodle must be part bloodhound. He has his nose on the ground the entire time I take him out to relieve himself. Even when I offer treats to stop sniffing and eating off the ground, he'll take the treat and go right back to sniffing.
