What about using forward weighted 3/0 with cork screw worm attachment to eliminate the sliding texas rig weight on your line. It helps the worm to glide through most any cover?

That's what I use in southeast Florida. With all the grass and Hydrilla, a 3/16oz. Screw lock bullet weight and a 4 or 5/0 Gammy Superline hook on 17lb flouro, or if the water is really tanic or dingy I'll go straight braid

It’s funny how pro anglers will tell people totally opposite ways to fish the same bait, proves there’s more than one way to do almost anything in fishing so find what works for you!!
