Great video. The funniest worm fishing line I heard by a Pro at a seminar 20 years ago. "When worming, you will generally get 3 taps. First tap is fish picking up the worm. Second tap is the fish spitting out the worm. Third tap is me, tapping you on shoulder saying, you dun waited too long to set the hook!"

I started fishing last year and you'd be surprised how difficult it was to find simple explanations on how to retrieve very common rigs/baits. I'm glad you made this video since everyone else on KZbin just focuses on what gear you need to buy

Well fishing is a very secretive hobby lol. A lot of us started like you with limited knowledge and learned our selves what to do. I personally learned more by making friends at the river banks and lakes with other older folks looking for someone to share their stories.

Finally, someone who actually shows the hand, arm, wrist movement while explaining why they're moving the bait that way. Very FEW will show their movements. All they show is a fish being caught with the rig they're supposedly teaching to use. Thanx for showing your actual retrieve motions and movements and hope you do more with other baits (ie bladed jigs, swim jigs, various cranking methods, and basic jig fishing). Showing what to do with the rod, reel, and hand/arm movements is something everyone else leaves out. I don't really care if they show themselves catching a fish. Everyone knows what that looks like! I wanna learn the technique. You just did that in this vid.....Thanx BLat!!!

Brian, I've found that bass are similar to seagulls in a McDonald's parking lot. When they are alone and find a French fry, they sit and eat it on the spot. When there's a group around them, they grab it and try to fly away so it won't be taken away from them. Anytime a bass runs from the spot where he picked up my lure, I try to land that fish quickly and get another cast right at that spot. He was running away from his competitors. My absolute most favorite way to catch fish. Spot casting a black 8 inch Mann's Jelly Worm (or the homemade equivalent) with a 3/16 oz. Slip sinker and 4/0 Eagle Claw 295JBL, Let her hit bottom, count to 2 while watching line, then 2 quick pops, let 'er fall, then reel it in.

I noticed this too. It's because they are kleptoparasitic. I was fishing and had a bass on, another bass was trying to nab the plastic off its mouth, my buddy threw his plastic and we doubled up. I later fished a double rig and caught 2 at once. It was a pretty rare occurrence but does enforce the point.

They are running so the other fish don’t steal their treat. They’re probably thinking see ya suckers! Until the hook gets set. 😂

Hey Brian. First time seeing one of your videos. You are really good at just talking and explaining things. This was a perfect video to learn the inns and outs of a Texas rig. Glad I found your channel. I am finally at the age of 57 getting my first kayak to get out on a lake. I have been bank fishing long enough lol. A lot of the different techniques I'm not familiar with so your channel looks to be very helpful.

I have a buddy that fishes almost exclusively a Texas rigged robo worm. He’s a great fisherman and is good at all the other techniques but man can he get em on a Tex rig and he gets big bass too! He uses a light weight, light wire kooks and a 6” worm. He’ll cast ( long ) let the bait hit bottom and SLOWLY drag the worm back to the boat sometimes taking up to 10+ minutes reeling it back! Amazing!

If I’m not twitching a jerkbait, jigging a blade bait, fishin a swimbait or glide bait, popping a frog, throwing a swimjig , a spinnerbait or cranking rip rap…. I ain’t fishing… of course my Asian buddy out fishes me every time throwing a f*cking Tex rigged Robo Worm 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️
