Im struggling to get the concept of finishing low and keeping a high tempo. Also wouldnt it produce a stroke with a deeper catch and more rotation ? Do you have a link to the Thomas Chicone video ?

I think what Russell mean by "finish" is that downward "flick" with your hand at the end of the stroke. That "flick" will tip your body to the other side (rotation about your long axis) which set you up for the next recover/catch of the opposite arm.

On the one hand, I'm frustrated that 2 of the greatest stroke mechanics can't figure out Popovici's unique secret. But, I'm happy that few can figure out his secrets, so that he can get the gold in Paris 2024!

Keep the elbow above the hand on the catch

Try something that forces them to do that, so they wont have to think about it. Problem solved
