Ron, thanks for demonstrating this adjustment procedure. While it's great that the tool comes right out of the box being adjusted properly, it seems like a poor design to make adjustments. First, the fact that you need to use a rag or something to protect the adjusting nut is ludicrous. This is a very expensive saw to begin with. I understand they are making things cheaper and lighter weight, but having to do that is a very poor indicator of quality. Second, instead of needing adjustable pliers and figuring the proper grip to turn the adjuster can is an imprecise method to make an adjustment on such a prestigious saw. As with every other method of adjustment, there should be a standard nut with uses a box end wrench, or else a hex key. Either of those options should be easy enough for a tool manufacturer and would be expected from a manufacturer such as Saw Stop. Obviously I have not had my hands on it for real but only my observation from watching the video. Hopefully they might be able to make such a change easily enough to improve a future model of the CTS. Thanks again.

Roy, the quality of the CTS is top-notch. The CTS is my table saw of choice: small, lightweight, and safety brake. There is no second option for me on the market currently. The JS Pro is a better saw, with the best fence I have ever owned, but it is a big saw making it hard to pick up and move around.

@@TheSmartWoodshop I understand and believe that it is a top notch saw. So do you believe that my suggestion is not necessary? In my thoughts, even when a tool or system is the best that we have available, doesnt mean that improvements couldnt be made.

The information provided was the subject of a service document from Saw Stop. I considered the COMPACT because I was looking for an alternative (read that an improvement) for my Saw Stop Job Site Pro. Your observations parallel mine and I determined them to be a deterrent to purchase the COMPACT.
