MASTERING THE WET on F1 2018!

I play 5 lap ranked races only. And I play a lot. I used to switch to medium traction when I got a wet track, I've stopped doing that. I have a heavy foot and driving in the wet you just can't do that. Have to switch gears early and be very easy on the gas. It's not easy but rewarding when you get it right. Just think the objective is to move the car under traction. And that can be done if you switch early and give about half throttle till your sure you have grip. Oh and till the tires warm up, after the first lap I take the corners in low fuel then switch it back up to high.

i just skip the race if it's wet. i play no assists on 70 difficulty and i win every race. i can't even make it in the top 15 on wet. i just skip that shit now. fucking annoying bullshit

I know how hard it can be to tell others how to drive in a certain way. Especially how to drive in wet weather conditions. But this was really good information and help! Thanks! Would be funny if you made a video of helping someone who has never driven simracing to do 1 good lap or something :)

A question back in 2017 you managed to make a special video about what you think is the best setup for most of the races on the calendar. Some kind of master setup in which I found at least 1 full second of more, I am looking for a suggestion to which setup should I use the most in f1 2018?. I have no time for changing the setup in detail for every race. Thank you.

Do you think that having a high brake pressure (eg high 80s%) has a significant impact on tyre wear if using medium traction control? I noticed the difference more in 2017 but not in 2018

Does the racing line in the wet have significantly lower traction than the other parts of the track like in real life? If yes, then would that mean that it would somewhat be faster driving like verstappen(i.e. Off the line)?

I failed for hard braking in wet Monza, keep locking up and the tyre wear is like 7-10% per lap, my setup for Williams are 54%brake and 50% tyre, any aspect I’ve missed out on hard braking on wet, and I’m using ps4 controller on pc, with no assist

You didn't talk about throttle differential and brake bias. You don't touch change these when driving in wet conditions?

diff should be turned down a little so you can have better traction, i use diff at around 60% in rain but it's a preference

Sadly wet conditions in F1 2018 are not realistic, they need to work seriously on that aspect of the game. Driving over the white painted lines and kerbs like that is just plain ridiculous, there is no aquaplaning off the line where is more water and water puddles, or even driving off the the line where is less water to be faster, just puts me off the game. It should be more of a challenge to drive in wet especially when I tried to play online as I try to avoid the kerbs and everything and then you see guys driving the same line and using the kerbs like they are driving in dry conditions.

Lol. When I used to have those on, I was just killing the AI in career mode when it was raining. If it was raining I was almost guaranteed of a podium, whilst if it was dry on that same track I would get P12 or so (with Torro Rosso). LOL
