Thank you Philip. Was feeling so lost and didn't know how to start coding. This is so insightful

You're welcome! It doesn't allow me to create subthemes. I was able to only create themes.

hey thanks for the video! is it necessary to add all codes to the themes or can I merge some when they are pretty similar?
@drphilipadu4 ай бұрын
You're welcome! You can add the codes to respective themes. Alternatively, you can use the 'Code Groups' function to group codes into themes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnineKKcaLd0hJo

Thank you. How do you create themes and sub themes under the AI coding tab

It doesn't allow users to create themes and sub-themes when using AI coding tab. Alternatively, you can use ChatGPT to do the analysis: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ama6nWmMbbOFgLs

My question here is that if your research is studying peoples "perceptions" or "experiences" and codes do not link to one another and are separate in nature how do you go about developing the themes or clusters to identifying what may potentially answer the research question?
@drphilipadu3 ай бұрын
That's a great question. The challenge of developing themes or clusters when the codes seem separate and disconnected often stems from the process of code generation. When creating codes, it's important to ensure they accurately represent the excerpts you've selected and directly address your research question. By doing so, you can begin to identify patterns or connections between codes, even if they initially appear unrelated. I would recommend revisiting your codes to ensure they are tightly aligned with both the data and your research question. Often, the act of refining your codes can reveal subtle links between them. Once you've done that, you can group the codes into themes based on commonalities or the broader concepts they represent. These themes will help answer your research question by organizing the data in a meaningful way.

My question is, now that we have created themes, grouped how do we code/analyse ? This is for when you don’t want to jump to AI
