I started crying yesterday when I came in contact with a cat that reminded me of a cat that I had that had passed away. It was so unexpected and really surprised me to have that reaction as it has been over a year since she passed. You never know what can be a trigger.

And you never know what and when you will be triggered I'm learning my triggers this is one of the reasons why I had to break down and tell my husband everything that happened to me as a child so he would understand my behavior why I rock at night why I have anxiety and depression also separation anxiety Stockholm Syndrome and why I feel guilty even going to the doctor because I grew up in a household where my abuse happened and they didn't take you to a doctor I grew up with policyclovarian syndrome and didn't find out about it until I was an adult so the pain that my mother accused me of Faking has a name also phantom pains is anothe thing I couldn't speak about because that would put both of my adoptive parents in jail but now that I'm an adult I've been able to say it outside of my body sometimes I feel that PTSD is an understatement, trauma is an understatement for what I feel because emotionally sometimes I feel a wreck but my body still feels the pain of where I was abused even on the soles of my feet I was beat sleep deprivation sent to bed hungry all of these things manifest long after they've stopped happening this is why I have concluded that I am a work in progress for the rest of my life videos like these help me manage and understand myself a little bit more and understand that a lot of the crap was never my fault but it most certainly is my burden to bear and understand! Thank you

How do we identify that a symptom is a reflection of a neuro-chemical imbalance? How is it treated if a person refuses medication? If that is one of the treatment options?
@DocSnipes

Explore and address the underlying reasons of the neurochemical imbalance...nutrition, stress, microbiome, unresolved trauma etc.

Today I was bombarded by a few triggers and in my inability to stop my physical reactions to the anxiety I hit myself in my forehead and sometimes I have done this but I'm afraid to tell my therapist because I don't want to get locked up, I am not suicidal I just don't know how to tell my doctor 🙂
@DocSnipes
@DocSnipes 2 жыл бұрын
It sounds like what you are talking about is a form of nonsuicidal self injury. It is not uncommon, and your therapist can help you understand and find alternate ways to cope with trigger cascades. To better understand it yourself, you might review these videos. kzbin.infosearch?query=self%20injury ~Peace

I have Empty Nose Syndrome. Every time I breathe, it reminds me of the day I woke from the surgery. I have to put Kleenex up my nostrils to dampen the reminder of the excessive airflow coursing through my nose. This happened in 1994. It's like it happened yesterday. Actually it would make a good Twilight Zone Episode.
