Great explanation, have often thought about issues of mounting the gun on differently elevated targets. What you are doing is similar to what it takes to break targets from the hip. To do that requires total concentration on the target, forget about the muzzle.

👍👍 I've been doing similar but with the addition of a bore sight.

A laser bore sight is the way to do this, not a ShotKam

This drill can be simplified and the end result expedited by using a laser instead of a shotkam for immediate visual feedback.

Why not just use your bead? Higher gun but the same movement. Keep the bead where you need it while mounting.

This is similar to the skills necessary to field a low hard ground shot in baseball.

Question:- Is a mid bead worth having?
@jimsutton8244

I would say yes if you are starting out to learn. After learning it will be less valuable.

No use at all,you should be looking at the target. Beed is never seen.

Yes, a mid bead is a very useful tool for someone learning to shoot. It allows you to check consistency of gun mount. Focusing on the target isn't going to help you if your gun mount is all over the place. Once you know you're mounted properly, then you can focus on the target. When you have more experience, it won't be necessary because gun mount will become muscle memory.
