In this video, David Radulovich shares his secret weapon for mastering the art of shooting - the Hold-Point Drill. 🎯 Join us as David unveils the drill he personally attributes to his success, even in winning a World FITASC Championship. This drill, which he simply calls the Hold-Point Drill, is a game-changer, with the ShotKam Camera providing crucial insights into proprioceptive awareness - the synchronization of body movement with your gun.
🔫 Understanding Proprioceptive Awareness:
Ever felt like your hold-point was perfect, only to discover you were off in your ShotKam footage? David's Hold-Point Drill bridges the gap between perception and reality, helping you align your gun precisely where you intend. This drill enhances your spatial relationship understanding, making your setup foolproof.
💡 Why This Drill Matters:
David emphasizes the drill’s significance by highlighting its simplicity and accessibility. You can practice it anywhere, from the comfort of your home to your local gun club, without spending a penny on ammo or targets. This drill, designed to align your eyes, gun, and target seamlessly, is the key to refining your shooting technique.
🎯 Executing the Hold-Point Drill:
David demonstrates the drill using colored squares on a wall, representing various targets. He guides viewers through the process, emphasizing the importance of eye movement without head adjustment, developing a consistent posture, and understanding the convergence point between eyes, gun, and target.
🎥 Live ShotKam Feedback:
What sets this drill apart is its use of ShotKam footage for feedback. David explains how to set up the ShotKam and utilize its live stream feature, providing real-time visual cues. He challenges viewers to adapt their posture based on the colored squares, ensuring the gun's reticle stays on the target throughout the mount. Through this process, shooters can refine their skills and gain unparalleled physical understanding of their gun setup.
👁️ Mastering the Setup:
The drill concludes with a demonstration of how the Hold-Point Drill can be applied in various postures. David showcases how to maintain a consistent reticle placement while adjusting body position, ensuring the gun stays on target. By practicing this drill diligently, shooters can achieve a level of expertise that sets them apart from the competition.
🏆 Conclusion:
Join David Radulovich on this transformative journey toward shooting excellence. With the Hold-Point Drill, you have the opportunity to refine your shooting technique, achieving a level of mastery that can significantly impact your performance. Great explanation, have often thought about issues of mounting the gun on differently elevated targets. What you are doing is similar to what it takes to break targets from the hip. To do that requires total concentration on the target, forget about the muzzle.

Question:- Is a mid bead worth having?

I would say yes if you are starting out to learn. After learning it will be less valuable.

Yes, a mid bead is a very useful tool for someone learning to shoot. It allows you to check consistency of gun mount. Focusing on the target isn't going to help you if your gun mount is all over the place. Once you know you're mounted properly, then you can focus on the target. When you have more experience, it won't be necessary because gun mount will become muscle memory.
