I've been listening to Miles ever since I was in high school - well over fifty years. I always seem to find myself in his music, no matter from what period, although as I've gotten older - music from his earlier years seems to resonate with me the most. The sound of his trumpet always seems to go to my inner core, always knowing who I am. To me Miles has always been "the man" and it's his music I dig the most.
