I love this figure and this combiner. It’s well engineered and looks great. I’m also happy that it scales smaller than my FansToys Superion because cars should be smaller than jets.

I love this figure and set too… and the engineering is great… Interestingly, I share your sentiment about the scale… I have the same thoughts… However… I also have conflicting feeling about it… due to the animation scale… with the mass-shifting design… … …

bought mine today. its so hard to try and make Groove look cool. his design is one of the weakest in Transformer lore. not going to combine this set. i've been having bad luck with breaking combiners lately. lol. Hot Spot and Streetwise are the best two of the set. my Xtrans Groove also broke in that spot.

Glad you’re getting it… Groove’s design is a little odd… but this version does have some good articulation… so maybe you can get a good pose to make it look good… I’m not combining this set either… but I will once just to see what it looks like, but so far Defensor’s thighs are TOO LONG… I have issue with Hot Spot… but Streetwise is the best in this set - IMO… Sorry to hear about your combiner… sometimes it’s a pain transforming them…

Great review as always thanks. It’s a beautifully sculpted piece. That totally aside if I knew what I was getting into with this entire set I regrettably wouldn’t buy it again. The reasons to me are obvious such as there isn’t any die cast for the feet. Also the handlebars are so fragile of a collector was to practice their humanity and drop the figure then this figure isn’t gonna hold up. Those handle bars should be metal. Same with First aids’s mirrors as well which are made out of rubber. Both of mine have already fell off. So I hate to be a negative Nancy here but these really are my sincere feeling/thoughts about the piece. What really annoys me is these could have easily be remedied with better QC and materials. The critics of my critique might say “well the company has to make money too” and this is what I say charge me the extra $10 per piece and give me the metal handle bars and the hard plastic mirrors. Why wouldn’t they……?

Thanks… I appreciate your honest thoughts and feedback, as always… As for this set, I hear you on the points you mentioned… The die cast… is optional, IMO… and I’m actually ok either way (with / without die cast)… The only EXCEPTION… is if it needs it to stabilize the balance or reinforce certain area (i.e., joint’s, thin armature, etc)… The handlebars, and First Aid’s rubber mirrors… I agree with you… I think the design, parts, materials, form and function should have been thought out better… (maybe die cast) - Sorry yours fell off… You’re not being a negative Nancy (LOL)… Just being honest, which I value and appreciate… and I 100% agree with you that these QC issues could and should have been remediated… Overall, the way I look as it… no company it perfect (Takara / Hasbro, FansToys, XTB, DX9, MMC, etc)… and there are other factors $$$) to consider, as you mentioned… So it is what it is… Bottom line is we just accept it for what it is (issues and all)… or choose not to… That said, even though it’s not as great as I would like it to be… (with all the issue that could / should have been fixed)… I like the ‘LOOK…’ and it fills-in my Masterpiece collection… So I’m hoping for the day when FANSTOYS will give us some Protectobots / Defensor… with Die Cast, excellent paint finish, better handlebars, side view mirror, etc…

@@streakshooter918Excellent points and follow up to my feedback and concerns of the piece. I pretty much agree with you on everything 100% so very well there 😀. Yes I’m with you on Fans Toys I think that I would also be in on their Defensor and then use MMC’s for bot mode which they did pretty good trading that die cast aside. Lots of finer points to talk about with this set it could go on and on but for now it is what it is and it isn’t what it isn’t in line with your conclusion as well . Cheers 👍👍👌💯💯💯💯
