This isn't Optimus. This figure is Nemesis Prime from the IDW Generation 1 continuity, in which Nova Prime became Nemesis Prime.

I'm under the impression they're going to release an alternate trailer add on with more accurate Nemesis Prime esc colored armored pieces for this guy. Knowing Mastermind Creations I wouldn't be surprised.

Okay, first off let me say that I absolutely *love* the way that the core robot looks in these new colors! Don't get me wrong, I liked the original version's blue/white color scheme well enough, but this new black/dull silver with teal/trans red highlights just looks perfect to me. Unfortunately the same can't be said about the armor, however, as I think the new chromed look just drags down what I'd otherwise consider a near must buy figure. Sure it's nice that they used a darker chrome for the main body pieces rather than the straight silver of the wings, but even if they did use the dark chrome from Leo Dux's gun instead (which _would_ look pretty damn cool admittedly) like you suggested, I still think the entirely chromed armor would have been a complete deal breaker for me. (just think of the fingerprints…) If they had just designed the armor to match up with the main robot's color scheme I would have been all over this guy, but as is I think I'll just end up skipping over him entirely.

BiomasterM2 after waiting years for this...I am very disappointed that they used chrome to as his armor. I won't mind if they sold it as a bonus armor for either bot tho but I wanted the armor to match him to like they shown years ago with the clear red wings smh

I actually like the Chrome armor. I hate random chrome (Like on Leader Jetfire), but something about this gives a crooked angelic Transformer. Or maybe like an RPG final boss crossed with the Shredder

I really like the core bot repaint, it pops really well, and looks really menacing, however I'm not keen on the champagne gold and silver chrome, it looks good for what it is but not for me.

The chrome is going to attract fingerprints and scratches like a magnet. Literally any other choice would have been better for long term display/play life. It looks neat now, sure, but give it a few months. A damn shame too since it went from such a vibrant core bot to an ironically dull looking armored up form.

Hey Peaugh, Demonicus with a teal faceplate and red eyes would make this figure perfect, wouldn't you say? :) And it would show the teal more in armor mode like you mentioned. A fucking sweet figure man, I checked the price they want 200 for it. Hmmm if it's around after xmas, which I doubt, maybe

Yeah..., he looks like something out of Saint Seiya. I think an armor that matched the robot's body would have been better and just have this as a set that could be purchased separately.

No, Nova Prime is Optimus' predecessor, and was one of Prima's elite in the IDW comics. Turns out he was pretty corrupt, even before winding up in the Dead Universe.

the base robot on this is awesome, and if it was released on its own I would buy it but man that trailer. why is is chrome?!?! idw nemesis prime wasn't chrome he was mostly black! so why is the trailer chrome?!?! it just doesn't make any sense to me and I think it's sort of ugly. so definitely a pass for me.
