Illusion can be a powerful ability if utilized properly, but Mastermind usually just threw realistic images around. Even if his illusions were telepathically induced, I wouldn't really call him an omega level telepath.

Right Exactly, he just made stuff popup to appear there & over there, some many time that even Professor X , get tired of keep telling his team the X-men just walk through the fire , hell it's fake, just walk through that wall, it's really not there. Now a more powerful telepathic can also used illusion that it will cause anyone pain regardless if that person know it's not really real. Hell their can also make a person crap their pants and put people to sleep. It really both mind control and Mental physical manipulation abilities, that is so strong it's also can be use as a self-consciousness reaction and in the astral planes of existence a.k.a effect & go to the spirit realm. That why someone like Professor X is so well know popular & powerful within the community of the mutant race.

This is one villain I have wanted to see in live action. Fox never brought this character to live action. I hope MCU does him justice but I doubt it. The X-men animated series did a wonderful job with the character.

@Marvelous love the Xmen coverage recently as they remain my favorite "Super Hero" group. I am looking forward (If it is done well and with a huge budget for actors and scripts" the relaunch of the Xmen and Fantastic Four in the MCU (FF strictly for the greatest Marvel "villian" Dr Doom)

As much as I appreciated the comic, I always thought “The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants” was just lazy writing. They weren’t evil so much as they had much different sensibilities and ideals. They wouldn’t have called themselves that.

Actually, various histories of Marvel have addressed this (granted retconned) the name serves 2 purposes one is in the ironic sense to terrorize psychologically the “normal” human population and second to lock Xavier and the XMen into the very narrow concept of acting “good and moral”. #byanymeansnecessary

Yeah, I read the original comics, dude wasn't a telepath. This is some kind of retcon and I always hated this story. Dude was pathetic in the original 60's comics. His powers are about creating illusions not telepathy. Emma was the telepath. She gave him some kind of a device that allowed him to project his illusions into Jean's mind. Which is utter bs. And dude is actually ugly. He uses his illusion powers to make himself look more handsome.

Yep. He has sexually coerced many women before with his illusions. He has three children that we know of; Martinique (mastermind 2), Reagan (lady Mastermind) and Meghan (Pixie). There are supposedly more. Also, he doesn’t have any contact with them as kids so, the first time he met Reagan was when he hit on her at the club.
