Woooow. To me, Masterplan was the best band on the world at that very time. Pure gold!

It is absolutely insane how good they do sound, especially Jorn. I cannot believe this does not have some overdubs, it’s unreal

It clearly has been overdubbed extensively. Just pay attention to Jorn's mouth and the sounds he makes. They don't always match. But the whole thing sounds largely studio-recorded. The recording is far too clean for such a small stage in 2003. Not judging them, by the way, because given the choice, I would pick a great-sounding overdubbed mix like this over a reverb-drenched mess any day.

@@kevinterviewshahaha wtf? Jorn in his prime was practically the best metal vocalist, look for videos of Ark live and then comment if there is an overdub. Sometimes when he sings he opens his mouth a little, that doesn't mean there is an overdub for God's sake. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

@@javierfonte316 I'm not saying that he can't do it, because he obviously can. He is an extremely skilled singer. I'm just saying that this particular recording is clearly heavily overdubbed. And that doesn't mean his original performance wasn't good, the most likely scenario is that the mix would have been too messy for the band's liking if they went for a full live sound. It's a fairly small stage, so all the instruments would have bled into the other tracks, and this mix is really clean.

@kevinterviews Practically in every official live record of a band there are adjustments to the sound. I don't see what's strange or suspicious
@kevinterviews17 күн бұрын
@@javierfonte316 That is absolutely true, and I don't even mind that being the norm, but my original reply was in reaction to the original commenter saying "I cannot believe this does not have some overdubs". My response was no judgement on them actually being there.
