I’m 53 and born and raised in Augusta. Attended my first Masters in 1977 and followed Jack every tournament until he hit his last competitive shot on 9 in 2005. This video shows the absolute class and that I hope will come back again

I went to Billy Caspers' summer camp for kids in 1981. one of the boys asked Billy how he won the Masters, he dropped a ball on the range and hit a BEAUTIFUL high draw. he looked back at us and said "that's how" ☺

Arnie looks so relaxed and content walking with Nicklaus. After winning in '58, '60, '62 and '64, he probably figured it was his turn again in 1966. Close, but finished tied for 4th.

This is great! The best home movie of a pro golf tournament I have ever seen. Your dad looked like a fun guy. Thanks for sharing this.

I can hear the sound of the projector and see the white sheet their watching this remarkable film on. Augusta looked so bare compared to today's Augusta. I like the shot of Bobby jones at the end.

Thanks Mark. Great bit of film and even for us New Zealanders as our famous golf son Sir Bob Charles is on here at 9.25 with Jack and Arnold. Best wishes.

Really enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing. Arnie and Jack looked like such good mates. So much footage of them just walking together like it was a Sat arvo social hit. Nice to see friendship meaning so much. Thanks again. Your Dad getting up to meet them. So funny....

I like the way the course looked here, wish they had left it looking like this, a bit sparse and easier for people to see more golfing action. Thanks for posting

Tommy Jacobs, who was in a three way playoff in the Masters (1966) with Gay Brewer and Jack Nicklaus is a personal friend of mine. He moved into our community here in Leland, NC a few years ago and became part owner in our course Magnolia Greens Golf Club. When his wife passed away a couple of years ago, he moved to Arizona to be closer to his sons. Tommy is a super guy and we miss him. We do stay in touch by phone from time to time. Playing golf on the weekends with him was always a treat. He would never give us tips....unless we asked. Thanks for posting this video, I will make sure Tommy sees it. He always said there is little or no video of the playoff. Tommy always said he was heartbroken over that loss. Who wouldn't???

6:16 Tony Lema and wife just a couple of months before plane crash. Who is the guy signing autographs at 6:39 and 7:08? Did I see Byron? Ken Venturi, Julius Boros, and many others topped by Bob Jones himself at the end! Great stuff!

❤at 4:51 it looks like Jack and Armie were color coordinated. This was before global warming as it looked colder there than what we see now. Definitely a friendlier time as everybody was shaking hands and the fans were up close to the golfers. This was peak pro golf a parade of legends and past legends. This must have been a great time to be alive. I wonder how many fans druving to the tournament had their AM radio on and listened to the Beatles playing Paperback Writer or Nowhere Man. And how many young men were watching their mailbox hoping a draft notice did not come.

There was a Professional in the video that many believe would have given Nicklaus a run for His money as the best ever if He hadn't been killed in a plance crash. From California... Tony Lema.

Was your father the same Ralph DeVito that played at Hubbard Heights in Stamford? Was that Tony Mammone in the video?

HI Bill, Yes my dad use to play at Hubbard Heights. I afraid I don't know who Tony Mammone is?

I'm pretty sure it was Tony M. He was a fixture over there at Hubbard Heights back in the '60s when I played there
