The most inspiring thing is that these guys have regular lives and do this for fun. Just listen to that vocal quality. There are so-called 'stars', making millions for performing computer enhanced rubbish, who aren't fit to be in the same room singers of this calibre.

This song gives me goosebumps all over my body. No matter how many times I hear this song, it is still inspirational. The group as well as the composer are some of the greatest groups in the world. Great job. The heavens are praising you. God like voices.

I love how these singers don't sing over each other, they sound like one voice. Seriously this is way better than 'pitch perfect' or 'glee', which is still great. This music needs to be appreciated by more people!

God, I am in a all treble choir, and I have the biggest range from a low D# to a high C (3 Octaves) and I so wish we had lower voices it would so amazing! This makes me happy! Amazing.

My dad was a member of the Phoenicians for about 20 years under Lou. I seem to recall there was another director towards the end but a lot of people left under him. I remember going to those rehearsals with him and wandering the halls while hearing them sing and then going to the shows at Grady Gammage and at 7 years old I could sit through and entire show mesmerized for almost the full 3 hours. My dad's almost 84 now and I'd love to find him a cd of the old Phoenicians.

Thank you... for posting this. My grandfather and I were members of the Keystone Capital Chorus in Harrisburg Pennsylvania... he passed away two years ago, but this was one of the last songs our chorus did before I had to leave to go off to college... he always loved this song...

I approached Jeff Oxley after their winning performance to congratulate him, as I was a fellow competitor. The Acoustix were along side him and when I outstretched my hand to congratulate Jeff, he looked at me condescendingly, refused my handshake and walked right by me. Jason January immediately apologized to me for Jeff's actions. Speaks for itself...

All members of Metropolis and Gotcha! were active in the chorus. Nightlife also had at least three members and Revival had one or two. Can't remember is Sasine or Royce sang this year. Everyone thinks of Masters and the chorus' accomplishments but what gets un-noticed is the list of quality quartets produced from the MoH. This includes OC Times and now Masterpiece plus countless District Champions like High Fidelity.

MOH represents the only "legacy" chorus to ever win consecutive International Chorus Championships after their first Gold. Also the only one to manage to continue to achieve championship level after a change in directorship.

I appreciate this reference explicitly. I actually stumbled across a barbershop video completely with drill from Westminster and another from the Ambassadors that started my appreciation for the activity. I'd done marching band and indoor drumline and almost drum corps for years, then saw that something like THIS could be. SO brilliant

The conductor is to be commended. You people sound like you don't know choirs or accapella groups with your cynical comments. Music is meant to be felt and choirs often feed of the energy and 'feeling' of the conductor. I would love to have been led by this man. If any of you have been choir masters your would know the ecstatic feeling of being able to convey a message with the backing of an able and talented group such as this.

the director in this performance is Jeff Oxley, he's the bass for the quartet Max Q, i've had the honor of singing with him several times and a quick fact for the people who hate on him, He and Fred King both co-arranged this piece so Jeff has every right to perform a solo on the song he helped created, people dont do their research

6 years later and I agree 100%. The rythm changes through this piece are bloody tricky and he conducts the ensemble with authority and passion. Great job and a fine performance by the whole choir.

To mr polka. Had the same reaction at a vocal majority concert. Acoustic were there. We glad a inner circle meeting between afternoon and evening concert. My wife complemented Oxley on his voice and presentation and asked if he would give a brief concert at the inner circle..? He stuck his nose in the air and said absolutely...........not. And huffed off. We took our check home with us. We received an apology from Jim Clancy and son Greg..we have continued to. Make. Donations to VM, and attend all concert. Oxley is a fantastic performer, whose PR. Ability rivals that of Attila the Hun...

@COMALiteJ - Absolutely, The Vocal Majority qualifies as a Legacy Chorus, so does Louisville Thoroughbreds, Ambassadors of Harmony and Alexandria Harmonizers. Each of these choruses won silver on either their second or third attempt at the Gold. Masters has an unbroken record from their first Gold to their most recent.
