Hello doctor, as far as I have observed a GPA is recalculated by the university admissions office and they generally are not the same as pre-calculated so your 3.0 GPA may turn out to be higher. However, they have a basic outline that if we got above 65% -70% in our BDS then we should be safe to apply. On the other hand, if the US university has offered admissions then doctor, I would open that door and walk through it without giving it another thought personally :)

I am currently a BDS student who have recently completed my final year. I would be completing my Internship by March 2023, can I apply to university without the internship completion certificate? Or is it mandatory to provide internship completion certificate too? Please do reply at earliest as am pretty worried about this! As most of the universities have a deadline by Feb/ March I wouldn't be receiving an internship completion certificate by then is there any chance I can apply to September 2023 intake without it. Thanks in Advance!!
@TheToothFactory

Hello Doc! Congratulations on completing the final year! For applications to MPH in Canada, the main requirement is a completion of degree and for us in BDS we get a degree after we complete the internship as well. Therefore, when you apply you will need to submit a degree. I am afraid you may have to apply next year itself. I have noticed the deadlines for international students to be around January and February. Plus while applying you may need to collect high scores on TOELF/IELTS and GRE along with the completion of your degree.

So doctor generally that sort of an opinion is presented by people when they have been through such a bad experience however, MPH is still a a strong educational background to have and the jobs are in demand for sure. In your case doctor, I believe if you are considering studying in Canada to build a back up career before heading to medicine, MHA is a stronger option to help you build towards medicine, and also land you a clinical job in a hospital. You can definitely email us on dr.shah@thetoothfactory.ca and we will be glad to help you be guided.

Hello, if you have completed your MBBS from China, you should still be able to apply for MPH in Canada without any issues as whether from China or India, it would be an international credential. Hey can i do MPH after Bachelors of physiotherapy. Is it beneficial ?
@TheToothFactory
@TheToothFactory 2 жыл бұрын
You sure can do MPH after BPT. And it is beneficial in terms of getting PR and establishing a strong career incase you do not wish to continue Physiotherapy as a career in Canada. It is not just another course that we may take for PR purpose but it is rather a strong career and a master’s degree. So if you wish to come to Canada and swap careers MPH is the best choice. Otherwise you can come to Canada on student basis with generally a milder and cheaper course to reach PR and then do your physiotherapy licensing to become a practicing physio.

Hi sir.. I completed my bds in 2014 .. when I contacted few agencies they are telling me I can do only bachelors in public health or ph diploma in health care management .. however , I would like to do a masters degree in public health or health administration . But they are saying the gap is a major concern and I may get rejected .. is it true ?
@TheToothFactory
@TheToothFactory 2 жыл бұрын
Hello doctor, so nice to hear from you about this scenario. This response not only will help you but many others in the same situation as you. So here is the truth: The "gap" will NEVER determine whether you will get in or not. You have a qualification of BDS and you wish to come to Canada to learn Public Health then all you need to make sure is you fulfill the academic requirements of a university you apply to. They include: 1.) 4 year degree, 2.) High GPA in your studies, 3.) High IELTS scores, 4.) Strong Statement of Purpose or CV and 5.) References See in these points mentioned above, there is no mentioning any gap or it does not limit you to just a diploma or bachelors. I do not mean to speak against the agencies but they generally have access to certain courses over others which is why they point you in that direction where they can get you an admission. I do not see why you cannot get into MPH with a BDS done 7 years ago. To me if you fulfill all of the 5 points above, then you will be placed in the admission roll and if they like your application they will call you for an interview if required by that University and then acceptance. So, in short, no it is not true that a gap will prevent you from studying MPH MHA or MSc in Canada. Go for it doc!

@TheToothFactory
@TheToothFactory 11 ай бұрын
Yes doctor that is because their success rate for getting people approved for admission is low for universities. They have a much higher probability for getting people approved for admission at colleges for certificate courses or diploma courses. Therefore, they push that more than universities. However, it does not rule out our chances of getting admission into a university. It is a sole matter of meeting the application requirements for the program. Meeting those will make us eligible for admission snd help us compete against other applicants. Besting that competition with our achievements in those requirements will get you an admission.

Hello so glad to hear from you, in your case MPH here in Canada would be the best choice as they will consider your prior courses and may give you credit prior hand lessening your work load however I do not believe it will reduce the duration. As you would need to be enrolled for 2 years for your work permit to reach 3 years. Also I recommend looking into express entry as well. Your career is highly reputed. Hello doctor, firstly MPH is a great field to pursue in Canada as it is on the rise and there will job opportunities consistently as well. It is a career in itself. And you have not to worry when it comes to us replying to you. We respond at all cost all the time. So speaking about your prospects: I believe due to the tremendous competition for the course, 65% would be a criterion they follow. And that would make it difficult for us to compete. However, I strongly recommend emailing the university in question as well because many times other criteria such as IELTS scores and GRE scores are well considered along with your SOP. So yes please do reach out to the university in question for your prospect as well.

Hello again, so yes the attempts it takes us to clear our degree and its years do matter significantly when we apply for admissions and for masters degrees that is actually an influencing factor. My recommendation in that case would be to email the enrolment center and admissions officer of that university which you are interested in. This way you will get case specific guidance. The email to them is found on their program detail page. In my personal opinion, I would apply for the advanced diploma program in health care to be able to be sure of admissions. It is also two years in length and offered in many intakes not inly september. The degree MPH is offered in September only. Although please do email that admissions officer. Just to be on the safer side. Hope this helps .

@TheToothFactory

Hello, pleasure is ours. So if you were to stay in the dorms or hostels at universities with food and rent it would be about 1200 dollars per month. Although if you were to live in sharing a home or apartment with other students which majority of the people do will cost you around 500-600 dollars. For both food and rent together. Yes so certain courses which are government funded do grant some scholarships but MPH and MHA or Dental hygiene like any courses which are generally student visa common courses are not associated with scholarships. Now I do know you can get a small bursary in the second year of your study here if you score really high but its no more than a couple thousand in the amount of money.

@TheToothFactory
@TheToothFactory 3 жыл бұрын
Anytime doctor! Unfortunately there is not unless you are taking a full 4 year bachelor’s degree program. Those programs have many provisions. But since are taking a 2 year MPH, there is no provision of international students. Generally how scholarships work is once you enter the university (bachelor’s degree) you are granted many opportunities for scholarships but after that (masters) there is not any. Unfortunately there is also not any loans that are available for international students as of yet but I know that banks such as TD Canada and RBC are working on developing loans for international students right now as the volume has increased exponentially.

And unfortunately their minimum requires mentioned on their lists such as IELTS at 6.5 is generally the lowest they will accept. And of course the higher the better from that value. As far as I am aware, 7-8 are a good score to aim for.

Unfortunately that is a rumour created by word of mouth. For employment purposes the most significant factor is MPH graduation with as good a mark as possible and an internship process that the employer holds. The status of the applicants are not a factor in selecting employees to be hired. That would really be an unethical practice.

Hi , I am currently pursuing internship in BDS and will be graduated in October 2023. I wanted to pursue MPH in Canada. And my aggregate percentage of all the four years is 69%(I've calculated it by totalling all the 4 year marks ) But as the criteria is 70-75% of most of the universities, so what can I do now? I scored 70% in my fourth year. So aggregate score is considered or the final fourth year course. Please guide me

Hello doctor, your 69% overall does not prevent you from applying, they will seek all applications above 65% for the admissions however in order for you to best the applicant competition, you would need to challenge the competitors using your IELTS scores as well.

Will MPH be good enough? Also, my aggregate in BDS was less that 65℅ but in MDS, it was 68%. Can i apply and get into it? @TheToothFactory
@TheToothFactory 2 жыл бұрын
Your IELTS looks good and your marks in percentages will be recalculated in GPA once you apply to a University. There are other requirements such as GRE which become a must for masters degrees like MPH. Along with those we must also go through the statement of purpose letter submission which is a HUGE portion of your admission process determination and then an interview once you are selected. Now for MPH lots of international applicants have been directed to Western University as they are open and accepting students and it is an accelerated program of 12 months for masters degree but it is expensive. So if you can fulfil all requirements I do not see why you cannot apply. I also do not know the reason behind consultancies refusing you application. It is upto the university to decide whether you will get accepted or not. See consultancies can only tell you if you are eligible to apply or not which in this case you are eligible. The one thing that can tell you whether you get in or not is the university itself. I hope this helps

Hello Doctor! You can do MPH without any hesitation, your credentials will be accounted for the competition and your MBBS from Russia will also be taken into consideration. The fees as mentioned in the video can range upto $11-15000 per semester depending on the college you get admission in and another option for you would be MHA which is also a non clinical form of a career in the health sector. Your percentages will be taken in consideration but do not stress over it as there are other things the colleges look at too such as IELTS scores which is a huge huge property in the admission process. So begin the process by selecting the colleges you wish to apply to and I recommend applying to both courses MPH and MHA at various colleges. And we can go from there. Hope this helped doctor!

Hello, your scores are great for the admission into this course and getting through this course is not hard, it is a lot of work but not hard. You already finished a doctorate. This is a masters program. Also this course give us a very good job not just an average job but a well paying and reputed job. In my opinion as of now, Western University in Ontario is amazing.

Generally the Admissions team admit the competitive scores and that is why the lower limit was 65%. Although there are other factors such as the IELTS/TOFEL OR GRE and CV and references that also play a great role in your admission. Therefore, do not loose hope doctor and apply without hesitation. You will make it into one college sooner than later. See you in Canada Doc!

MPH is absolutely a good choice after any health science education as an undergraduate. No doctor the applications are reviewed individually and biased towards a certain undergrad course qualification. Your SOP, CV and prior educational experience as well as work experience as paid or voluntary and also your GMAT with IELTS scores are evaluated fairly.

So sorry doctor, I did not see the notification for your previous reply to the comment. To answer your question, It is still okay to choose MPH for non medical applicants however, they must be ready for approaching biostatistics, evidence based health practices as well as health policy management. These subfields are very foreign to nonmedical personnels. Other than that it is a solid career choice. Oh and they must also hold mathematic background as pre-requisite from prior education.

@TheToothFactory
@TheToothFactory 2 жыл бұрын
Okay so in that case I would recommend that you consider MHA instead of MPH. See MPH is more statistical and research and desk based profession however, MHA is a more hands on in the field and management leadership worthy profession. And for any masters degree, you can work and study that is no problem but on student visa you can do only one if you are considering that route. If you are considering PR route then you can work a job full time and study part time. Now do I recommend doing that? No. I strongly suggest studying full time and working part time instead. This way your education is never compromised.

I think it is a prosperous idea to attain MHA after doing nursing. It is one of the more popular branches of masters in the fields of health that many paramedical science graduates consider opting for and as a career too it is an above average paying, a contributing to the growth of health care and a leadership requiring branch of education.

What are the jobs opportunities after doing mha in canada
@TheToothFactory
@TheToothFactory 2 жыл бұрын
Hello so job opportunities after MHA are very stable and relatively good in terms of demand. The fresh grads get an employment rate of 88% which is pretty high. And you can work as a manager of a clinic to a manager of a department at a hospital or even manager based on subdivisions. Basically the job description entails an MHA grad to execute health promotion and delivery plans created by the institution.

Thank you doc. So after your MD, when you come to Canada you must go through your medicinal boards to become a doctor in Canada but if you wish you have a job in the public health sector like an epidemiologist then we must clear the masters degree program entirely. There is no way to only take an exam to begin practicing as an epidemiologist directly. Medicine route is more thorough and deeper.

In order to work in Canada, majority of the skilled fields require a certification of some sort, even for things like working as a clerk at a medical clinic we need a certificate called Medical Office Administrator. So, if you are willing to educate yourself in Canada and not want to work as a doctor, then there are several options such as MPH, MHA and many more degrees where clinical fields are not taken but research based rather. Are you interested in studying further in non-clinical courses?

Hello sir! i have secured 68% overall in BDS, whether i'm eligible for MPH corse in canada?? i have talked to an agent and he told me that most of the uniiversity require 70% and above and he insisted me for considering Bachelors in public health from cape breton university. sir my final goal is to get into DDS. AND I'M VERY CONFUSED WITH THE RIGHT COURSE TO CHOOSE AND FROM WHICH INSTITUTION. i will be completing my internship in march2023. any suggestion would help me alot. ps; i was thinking of mph as it could enhance my profile i could be able to do some capstone project or research related to dentistry and the job after mph can help me save some amount for ndbe coaching and living cost, because i dont want to be a burden on my parents even after completing the course.
@TheToothFactory
@TheToothFactory 2 жыл бұрын
Hello doctor, you intentions and ambition is commendable. Very proud to hear about your goals. Now, in your case, your agent is right. The required amount of percentage from BDS is 65% however, the amount of competition these days for MPH leads the admission marks to touch as high as 70% but do not get me wrong. The marks are not the only things considered. There is IELTS and your SOP that is strong also matters. Also, speaking of your goal in the end to dentistry like DDS, if you were to choose Bachelors of Public Health, it opens up two doors for you doctor. One is a direct DDS application as a Canadian Domestic student after PR or you got the NDEB also available with using your BDS from back home. However, with MPH, that route is difficult so you are only left with NDEB route. yes, you are right that Bachelors may not pay you as much as a MPH but our primary goal when coming to Canada should be to consider the predictability of admissions and route to PR. You do not want anything uncertain in your route. So, if the agent is allowing to process your file for Bachelors of Public Health and is guaranteed admission then it automatically becomes a wise choice because it is more important that you come to Canada without visa rejection and become PR. Afterwards in your work permit and your PR phase of your journey, you can do your NDEB or DDS with ease as there are ways to afford dentistry where you do not have to feel burdened. But on the other hand if you were to choose MPH and took the risk to apply but did not get a visa or admission due to intense competition, then your file will be on a watch list and getting another approved visa would then become difficult. So, choose wisely even if it a career that pays a little less because at this point in your journey, your goal should primarily be PR. Then comes DDS or NDEB. and believe it or not doctor, I was able to afford my NDEB journey with working in odd jobs in stores and so on. It is a matter of financial planning and aid from banks. But that is a concern for the future. Present day, try to focus on what is more significant which is PR. DDS and NDEB will follow. Hope our discussion helps you decide doctor.
