It was a blessing to know J.D. Sumner all of my life ! I was born with congenital heart disease . At 12 I had heart surgery . It was a real emergerncy ,But they paralyzed my decending larengel nerve on my Aortia . My voice sounded like a whisper for most part . When J.D. heard me try and sing like him , He usually called me by my name , But he said '' Boy......You need to see a doctor '' ! He knew I had the finest ( Heart ) , Ear. Nose. and Throut doctors in the country . TRUE STORY !

Elvis Presley knew J.D. Sumner all of his life , Or at lest when Elvis was a child of around 13 years old . They remained close friends up until Elvis died in August 16, 1977 . Elvis was proud to have J.D. sing with him the last years of his life !

Well, ol' J.D. Sumner didn't need a fancy soundsystem as many of today's bass singers need to sound real low so the earth trembles.
