Same here. I started Martial Arts 30 years ago. I was obsessed with Ninja movies, especially Revenge of the Ninja, but watching Van Damm in Bloodsport sealed the deal for me. I started Goju Ryu Karate shortly after and I'm a 4th Dan.

i was a big ninja fan in the 80s. He was my hero .....i got to meet him and his sons kane and shane and he has a daughter sho kosugi had a marshal arts store in pasadena california and when i was there he and his kids came in and i got his autograph and got to hang out with him he was so cool.I still have the autograph today. thank you sho kosugi......

AMAZING!!! I remember being 8 years old and first seeing Revenge of the ninja in a video store, I somehow convinced my father to rent it for me! Sho Kosugi has been such a major part of all our lives... I count myself lucky to have actually been able to go to his martial arts supply store as a child in the 80's! Thanks so much Sho! The 80's would not have been the same without you!!!

I was 14 back then I saw Revenge of the Ninja first then afterwards I saw Ninja III The Domination and Prey for Death, best 3 martial art movies of the 80s while most other so-called ninja movies (like Enter the Ninja) were a bit rubbish.

Because of Master Kosugi, i loved all his movies and got into Ninjutsu training, bought a ninja suit and learned to use the Ninjato sword and nunchakus and shuriken. I can't say everything that i learned because its prohibited but i learned to be swift and silent. I will always have Master Kosugi in my heart because he was a big influence in my life growing up in the 80s. Thank you Sho Kosugi.

Love this guy from my youth. While Bruce may be best, Sho was there to pick up where Bruce left off. Good that we had him in the 80's since Bruce wasn't around anymore.

Mr. Sho. Iv been watching your movies since I was a little boy. My first movie was Revenge of the Ninja and just so you know even though you played the bad guy in some of your movies your the only reason I went to watch them. I hated it when you got killed in some of them. It filled me with sadness to see that. But i learned it was just movie. But you made a big difference in my life because I would buy them movies with my allowance money. I wish you many happy years and many more movies. You have so much more to offer the world. I knew Sho in Black Eagle (Van Damme) but I didn't know him as a kid! I just saw the Movie for first time in 2013 and I also saw him in Blind Fury(Rutger Hauer who's just died two weeks ago) I saw many of his movies playing Ninjas!Great Martial Artist!

To think my hero wanted to commit suicide. In so glad he lived and inspired me so much. He may have failed early on, but he is still a conqueror. I saw his Revenge of the Ninja movie and dreamed of being a ninja. Now I'm a Fifth DAN in Bujinkan ninjutsu. When he says that the first time he wore his ninja mask, he saw himself as he was 5 years old. I know how amazing that is, to look back and say to your 5 year old self, you made it.
