Livio, I love this history. Its amazing what is forgotten t history and rediscovered later. The gins look really good as well. I will have to look to see what I can find at my local liquor stores.

Nice video, I tasted a bunch of new to me Italian gins during our recent visit; especially one night with the owner at our favorite restaurant in Venice. Lots of lovely Northern regional ones!

Couldn't miss this one! Italian Gin, super cool. Great history, awesome video as always! I'm Italian so now I'll be and Italian that drinks Italian Gin, lol. All 3 of these look great, the only gin I ever use is Tanqurai, but I need to venture out of my comfort zone and try new gins... I'm sure these aren't easy to get where I live, but they sure look good. Great video, awesome presentation as always, I love this.

Thank you Pips! I am a Tanqueray drinker too so we are on the same page here. Have a great day!

I never knew gin was first made for a medicinal reasons, but of course it makes sense. Great history lesson, plus we love to hear your Italian come through. Beautiful bottle for the Portofino. Sort of a garden style almost. I think that would be my pick. Great class today! Cheers!

What an interesting video! I never realized Italy had such a history with gin. The Bicicleta sounds delicious!

Thanks for watching. Indeed the bicicletta is a gem. It is said to take the name because usually those who drink it ride their bikes to the bar to drink it and walk their bikes home once they have had to many to drink :)

It’s not a stretch to think that the Italians could make gin, and good gin at that. Considering Italy’s amazing Amari, there’s a thread that connects them. Great history, LIvio. Cheers!

Good call Vino. These “gins” even predated all the amari. Cheers my friend!

Livio, try making a Gimlet with Malfy Rosa (grapefruit) gin from Italy. Exquisite.

I don’t find the cocktail recipes you indicated in the area below. There is just a transcript of your presentation.

Awesome video Livio, do we know if the Poli Gin uses Grappa as the base or Neutral spirit?
@MasterYourGlass2 жыл бұрын
Not sure but I didn't taste grappa notes on the palate. Cheers!
